Just a head's up for y'all. Sierra Trading Post has Schuberth S1's on sale for $278. I thought they were a great deal at $360 so I grabbed one. Couldn't be happier. Features an internal sun shade that can be flipped down so you don't have to carry a second shield.
Schuberth S1 Helmet - Save 60%
The only issue I had was that the original antifog coating was peeling. So I emailed Schuberth directly and they sent me a new shield gratis. I would recommend doing that anyway because the newer shield has a lip for easier up/down flipping.
Thank you for the heads up!I have been looking online at these helmets for a while now and like the info that I've found. When I saw the price and also came across a 10% off online coupon I placed my order today. Can't wait to try it out.
My dad has had his Schuberth for about 4 years now and loves it. His only complaint was that it is a bit on the noisy side, but other than that thinks it's great.
My mistake, didn't see that you were talking about the S1. He has the Concept 2, which may explain the extra wind noise he experiences.
Is there a reason I have never heard of these?![]()

Yes... Very Small U.S. market share and no significant U.S. distributor.
Nice helmet though... I'll never own one, because it doesn't say Arai on the front, but they are very nice helmets...
And Sierra Trading Post rules by the way! I always check there first when looking for outdoor clothing or gear.

It only weighs 3.8 lbs????
that seems really light
i bought an S1 a few years ago...back when they cost an arm and a leg. still worth every penny.
i've owned alot of top o the line helmets over the years and my S1 is by far my favorite for general street use. it's abit bulky on the track but i swear a better street helmet has yet to be made.
