We are working on a couple new things for next season that we hope to announce at the banquet. Good stuff that will enhance our program for all of our riders. I hope to see everyone there.

Other dates TBA at Homestead, Barber and NJMP. We will also have a season package for Friday practices and for schools that we will be announcing next week as well.

Also, the 6/13-6/14 dates before the Classic are that Wed. and Thurs. (rather than Thurs. and Fri.).

Weds and Thurs before the national is correct. THe national is a 3 day event from Fri-Sun.

2012 Package Programs:

2012 SCHOOL PACKAGE

5 Day Discount Package - $999 (Save $400) New for 2012, these packages can now be used for ANY of the Penguin School events, including our special Penguin Revs days at NJMP and Barber (14 Dates Total). Your season pass allows you to come to the five events of your choice. Pass holders may take any combination of Track Experience, Basic or Advanced courses over the course of the season. One certificate is redeemable per event. Free T- Shirt for anyone signing up by January 1st.

Cert's are 100% transferrable!
So, what happens if you get hurt, move, have a baby or any other major event? No problem, the certificates that you get with your package can be given (or sold) to other people to use and remain valid for the entire 2012 season. One certificate may be redeemed per event.

New! Additional Days Available both at Penguin and Tony's Track Days.
If you come to all of your PRS events and would like to participate in more, additional days can be added at only $150 per event. New for 2012, Penguin Season Pass Holders can also particpate in Tony's Track Day Events for only $150 (regular $250 for at track sign up) when they sign up through Penguin.

NHMS Practice Specials

Practice Dates: April 28,May 18,June 14*,July 20,August 10,August 31,October 5
*Special Loudon Classic late practice, running from Thursday afternoon until 7PM.

Season Practice Pass (7 Days) - $699 (save $321) There are seven Friday events for the Penguin School at NHMS in 2011. Your season pass allows you to come to all 7 for a substantial savings....plus, you can now sell your practice if you have to miss an event!

5 Practice Days - $599 (save $151) If you cannot make all of our events, we still have a deal for you! Purchasers of the 5 day practice package will get 5 certificates mailed to them that are treated like cash. You can sell them to another party anytime during the season, and they are good through the end of 2012.

Skip the Registration Line!
Penguin Season Practice Pass holders will be put on a list at Penguin Registration. When you come to the track simply take your motorcycle to tech inspection and present your season pass. All that is required is that your bike passes tech and has your race number affixed to the motorcycle. (the only exception to this is for riders under 18, who must sign a waiver with a parent present each week)

The "what if" plan....
"What if" you have a seaon pass and cannot make a practice session? The Penguin School will allow you to sell any of your practice days. All you have to do is to fill out a transfer form (emailed to you with your confirmation) and have the rider bring it to Penguin registration. The rider buying the transfer brings in the form and pays a $25 transfer fee the day to the school of the practice (still a deal over at-track registration).

Other Notes: Penguin will be changing up the practices a bit in 2012 in an effort to make sessions more comfortable for riders of all skill levels. Inaddition, the LRRS Rookie Race is moving back to Saturday. We are also looking at adding a couple new features to the Penguin Fridays....to be announced here soon.

well you gotta do the basic school for your license. I suggest doing the first friday before the first race weekend. get it out of the way right at the beginning. after that you don't have to do anymore but if you can no one will ever say its a bad idea.

The school package is worth it if you can swing the money and time off. I did it last year. Dropped 2 seconds off my pb. I would do it again next season but Im not going to have the time available to me

.... we are as well (happy to see the Rookie Race back to Saturday). With LRRS offering the cheap first weekend race entries, it's really a good deal. I think that there will be 2 Novice races on Saturday next year as well (as opposed to one this season). So, a Novice could get a license and enter 2 races (plus the rookie race) for under $200 the first weekend.....not too bad.

We tried to make it as easy as possible for everyone to participate in. The idea behind the whole thing is that if something happens and you can't make all the dates, then you can move them to someone else. For the school and practice 5 packs (we have both for 2012), the certificates are treated like cash so you can simply transfer them. The only condition is an easy one, only one cert can be redeemed per weekend per purchaser.

If you buy a season practice pass, which is even lower cost than in 2011, you are put on a list at the school - no paperwork to handle unles there is a transfer. The cost to transfer a practice on any single weekend to someone else is only $25, which still lets everyone make out in the end.

We tried to make it good for the riders, good for us, and easy to manage all the way around. We listened to riders all year long and looked to make positive changes for this season. So far the feedback has been excellent.

Does this mean that the Novice racers aren't mixed in with the Penguin Basic students any more?

Yes, that is one topic that we've been talking about, and there are different ways to handle that. I think at the very least next year that the faster Novices will have the opportunity to bump up and practice with the Amateur guys (if you're within "x" seconds of bumping up). We hope to have the proposed 2012 daily schedule to announce at the banquet.
