The weather man lies!

...no offense meant for Mike Wankum, who is too good a guy to beat up for being a combination road racer / weather man. In spite of the rather dire forecasts, Friday went off really well and we did not get any of the wet stuff until late in the day on Friday. Most riders got a bunch of dry sessions, and it turned out to be a great day.

The on/off forecast got us again on Saturday, and we almost got everything off - missing only the Dash for Cash. The call was made to move it to Sunday, and as with any decision, there will always be a number of opinions. I think that Tommy giving riders the option to run the race Saturday or Sunday was a good thing. I appreciate that the higher ups enlisted the riders to determine what they wanted to do. Sunday was supposed to be wet (according to the weather man), but by race two things were dry for the rest of the day again...and we got a shower right after the races ended.

All in all, I think we lucked out......

I watched the radar all monday in the garage instead of registering like i had planned.

I think it depends on what channel you turned on. all the reports I saw kept saying scattered thunderstorms. well that means you can have rain in one place and across the street its nice. It was nice that we the riders got to make the call on moving MWGP. Then I got bit by us getting the choice again to continue on for MWSS. had second place by a mile in the wet then straight to the back on the dry restart.

Brett, in MWSS on the restart, you just have to say screw it and sacrifice your rains. My new set were toast afterwards !

Yeah, any time I think about changing plans for rain, I recall all the forecasted rainy days that turned out to be dry...there's been PLENTY of those. I ran all my practices and four races and didn't have a drop of rain hit my shield and the track was completely dry for all of my races. Happy surprise.

the main problem was I had an awesome start the first time but terrible the second time. once I was in the back I had no chance to catch the guys on DOTs cause they are faster than me anyway

I had a blast on Friday. But loading the bike in the rain sucked !
