We had a great Ducati Revs New England Event this past Monday. The weather was perfect and we had a great group of students. John Owens got a bunch of great shots during the course of the day and had them up on his site already. To check them out, go to www.owensracingphotos.com and click , Penguin School, Ducati Revs New England and then the group you were riding in.
One of the first photos I came across was one of the students who rented a bike from us. She was a little nervous in the morning but as the photos show, she did very well on the track!
Nice! Can't wait to set up my monster and hit the track with it!
May I ask what you did to the rentals?
The Monster prep was prety basic, we had to put rearsets on there (they were unrideable on the track without them) and frame sliders / axle sliders. We also put on a special top clamp that Woodcraft made to accept normal clipon bars. Other than that, strapped on a set of Dunlop Q2's and called it good.
If I was prepping a bike for myself, I would add a 3/4" piece of foam to the seat height and have it re-covered (this is cheap). With rearsets on, you really feel the low seat height. I would also raise the front ride height as much as the bike allows (push the forks down through the clamps until they are flush). These are pretty good bikes with some easy changes.
Thanks for the input!
Couple more questions if you don't mind.
Do those big white sliders mar up the frame at all when you take them off?
And with that top clamp you can buy different risers, correct?

I'd imagine that there is some evidence that the sliders have been there, but there is no real reason to take them off (we never have). We do have a "normal" sized slider setup that goes in the same place for those who do not want the huge white pucks.
The top clamp does allow for different risers, which is part of the reason we made them the way we did.
