Assuming I'm on my normal line, I say "What bump?"

I'm certain the spectator attendance would almost assuredly grow if the track put any amount of effort into it.
jussayyin :bitchslap:
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
and didn't they print up a ton of handouts people can grab at the office to bring to dealerships, group rides, stunt shows, bike nights, or any other motorcycle event.
if we want more spectator attendance its really up to the racers to help get the word out.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
I've had little to no issue with T9
... then again i had no issue with the T1A white line.
... or the bumps in 3
... or the bumps in 10
... or the bump in 1
... or the turtle shell in 12
:scratchhead:
Don't get me wrong, though. I wouldn't mind a smoother track :P
And I DEFINITELY wouldn't mind them smoothing out the entrance to 11, right by the cone on the left. I keep bottoming out the front end when I get on the brakes.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
The only problem I ever had with T9 was I was too chicken to not brake moderately for it.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
I think Eric said earlier that the gate prices and fees should go to Tom but thought I would throw this out.
Like others mentioned reduced fees or group rates would certainly bring more friends / family in.
I would also suggest having a separate gate fee of $10/15 which would allow people to watch from the stands at the Bowl but not into the infield. This way they could keep the infield pass the same and probably get the same crowd but may draw some additional fans. I know during the Classic they had road signs inviting passer-byes. This way if you had someone who wanted to get a closer look or to be with you they could buy the infield pass. If you had some one that just wanted to take a cruise over to stop by and watch you for a short time they could buy the $10 gate fee and sit at the bowl, you could always go to them. It may also draw the curious passer bye.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
re LRRS Novice program
The program is now even friendlier to new people trying racing. e.g.,faster novices get bumped up to am quicker etc.
ALL: Tell your friends / spread the word to come try racing, "you're not going to be blown away by super fast guys, everyone is in the same boat".
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
Last trackday I was getting my speed up through 1, 1a and the bump in T2 was causing me to drift twice way over on the edge of the tire. Once going on, and once going off the patch. I have developed a line I like to call "just the tip" which is a tad wide and just crosses the tip of the triangle. Smooth as butter and better ground clearance.
May be irrelevant now though if they ground down the bump.

The bump was ground down when we were there Paul.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
I'm knee over the yellow curbing in 2... I was getting a LOT of drift on worn tires especially on exit, but when I switched to new sneakers she was holding pretty good.
Try playing with your shock a little?
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
My tire was going off for sure. My shock is dialed in pretty amazing, front end is a little stiff... (har, har)
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
I always figured you'd had a stiff front end :sailor:

Yeah same here. Tires were drifting on the triangle. I followed Paul's line and it worked much better. Will try it out with my new rear next weekend.
Re: NHMS 2012 Suggestions?
Yeah, but you're increasing distance traveled and sacrificing some drive because you're pointed towards the wall a little more.
I'd rather deal with a little spinning, get the bike upright a little quicker and get back on the gas sooner.

True. I feel like at this point I have more confidence with the outside line though and will roll on earlier and harder. Maybe as I get more comfortable with the rear spinning up.

I found I was getting a little wallow over this new sectiion over the T2 rollercoaster. I brought it tighter to the cones where the transitions are spread out a little further and turned in 1/8-1/4 of rebound to slow the retun rate. Worked out perfectly.

Distance traveled is farther, but drive was the same or better because we were not spinning or hesitating on the throttle due to the double drift. I think we were going faster through there on the wider line. I'd have to do many timed laps to figure it out exactly though...
Gino, no wallow for me. Just drifting at the transitions.
