SO I got sick of messing with it and ordered a new rear. its too bad, because the studs and treads are great, but the broken bead is a bummer. I have had some success putting the bad part under the rim lock.
but it tends to do this:
I don't trust it riding remotely like I do, or in a race.
Could be good for someone to fuck around in front of their camp on the ice? Somewhere it isnt a big deal if you need to pop it back on.
Otherwise, it is headed to the dump.
Shipping would be prohibitive, but we will be headed down to MA for JDays next year.
Long shot, but I just hate to toss it.

If there was ever a picture that said “Maine,” that’s it!
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
What's with the new TKC's on the pile?
There was a recall on them. But they had to be on wheels, and go back to a dealer. So If I remove my knobbies, install those, drive like 4 hours round trip to a dealer, I can get some replacements, that I dont really want anyway.
I had them for sale before the recall with zero bites, then when the recall came out I gave up on them. I considered installing them just to do a big smokey burnout, but aint nobody got time for that

Its literally at the town dump, they will get hauled away, cost me $3 per tire. This pile isn't out behind my house or anything.
Ha, that’s cool (I think we both know the ‘typical’ Maine yard!!)
Houses in subdivisions here are generally close together, so no junk piles or any messes allowed. I am part of the ‘dont tell me how to live crowd’, but when it comes to my home value and quality of life it’s a worthy compromise.
