Making sure you keep the metal ratchet part of the straps AWAY from the rear wheel will avoid gouging the fuck out of the otherwise mint rear wheel on your CBR600RR (for example, if you were going to be transporting the bike in the back of a pick-up truck for 12 hours on the way back from VIR).
Noticed this while doing a little cleaning of the bike yesterday.
Nice, just fucking nice.

No, and I spoke to Noddy yesterday.
He didn't want to make a fuss last April, but he confessed to me that there were two scratches/dings in his gas tank when his bike came back from VIR in April. one was covered up with black touch-up paint, the other is actually leaking a little fuel.

Anything that rubs, especially if it has soem pressure, like a ratchet on the rear wheel, I throw an old hand towel or rag between them. They generally stay, and seem to do a good job avoiding marks like this.

Yep, it's not hard to take a few seconds to make sure everything is ok. I generally make sure that the METAL RATCHET is not actually rubbing any paint or powdercoating.

Always good to remember. Especially after a race weekend when youre exhausted and takling to people while trying to get everything loaded up. Its easy to forget, but sucks if you care what the bike looks like.
