STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Over on STN we are putting together the 4th annual NE meet and greet ride to Great Barrington Ma. Last year we had 8 or 10 guys meet at 202 and 119 in Rindge and The Other Sean led them down. It was cold and alot of snow on the ground but it was still a good 300 mile ride.
Anyone interested let me know or post over there. Here is the thread.

This is a race weekend, first track day of the year a few days after! :teehee:

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Doesnt matter to me who leads... we will have to see if TOS is attending.
Still baffels me that everyone went in the one group and Andy and I seperate. The return up over Hogsback was interesting after dealing with the psyco in the BMW....

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Interesting...yep, I'd say so.
It was a good time, and jsut the fact that we're talking about it again means that the season is just about upon us! About friggen time!

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Too bad it is a race weekend. Last year was fun and a mini triumph rally. Those roads were sandy (more beach than road in some cases) and you guys were flying.
-
Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Yeah, I was thinking of at least going to the races with Parker, and maybe even doing some corner work if they'd have me.
Not sure what I'll do now.
-
Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
I'll be heading to the track on Sunday (TTD), but I might be able to make this.
-
Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Wish I could make it but with any luck Ill have both bikes up at the track. If not Ill do my best to be there.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08

We did not look to see if this would interfere with racing but to tell you the truth I was pretty suprised when that was mentioned. I would have thought that racing would not start till end of May when winter if pretty much over.
I hope everyone has a great race weekend.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Its a bit too early to commit yet but I might be able to make it happen.
do we need to meet all the way up in NH though? I was thinking just a bit south at the JCT of 119 and 78. depending on the condition of the back roads I have a pretty decent route I can put together from there to
G barrington .

We can meet to start in NH and then swing by where you are to save you the trip up and back. Last year I stopped at 2 and 202 to meet someone (they never showed). so that is no problem.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
1st meeting place is Rt 202 and 119 in Rindge NH, leaving at ~830 heading to 2nd meeting spot at 202 South and RT 2. From there we can break in to groups and pick routes to Great Barrington.

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
What kind of pace for this ride?

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
V,
Multiple paces, multiple groups. Follow the link in the first post. We will all meet up in Great Barrington after lunch. How fast you get there is open to suggestion. I know I dont ride as fast on the GS as I used to so I wil be hanging with in 5 to 15 of the speed limit.
Cheese's group maybe be a little faster than that.:hahano:

5 over speed limits is slow....lol 15 over is a bit more fun and depending of the area and the roads, sometimes I go faster. Not sure how "fast" Rob's group might be, but maybe it would be wise to stick with yours anyway. :) Also, don't know where I'd meet you guys, I'm in Southwick MA, Great Barrington MA is about an hour from me taking the main roads (maybe 91 North then Rte 2) but taking back roads would take longer and it would be nicer. If you guys are leaving from NH, that's not in my area at.all.
Where do you go after Great Bari? Going back towards NH?

Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
Last year after lunch like 8 of us went up 7 to 9 and then over Hog's back Mountain and then split up from there.
Yeah 5 is pretty slow but you get to see the world a little better, haha.
Just run down to GB and meet us at one of the lunch places or at the Price Chopper parking lot.

I got my battery today, just need the new tires mounted, surely over the next few days. Since I'd have to meet you guys in Great Bari., I'd try to go up there with another rider...don't feel comfortable going that far away from home alone, in case something happend. I'd definitly love to join this ride. :) Besides...maybe 5 miles over won't be such a bad thing after all...new tires and all. ;)

I'm new to the forum here. I am going to try and make this, and if so will be leaving from the Bedford / Amherst area.

If I make it, I'll shoot out Rt. 101W to Rt. 202S. That's probably close to the route you'd be taking, right Dave?
-
Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
I'm a maybe as well.
Same area as Cheese and the rest of you Manch/Hollis/Nashua/Bedford goons. I'll keep lurking...

Does 7:30 give us enough time to get to the Citgo on 202?

Where in S. NH do you live?
-
Re: STN meet and greet ride 4/26/08
I'm going to be there even if it fucking SNOWS! The pizza at Four Brothers is just that good.

Call it "Nashua".
I'm sure there's enough time to get out there if we leave by 7:30, just wanted to see where Dave was at with this.
If anyone else is interested, mini-meet at the Bud Plant in Merrimack, NH at about 7-ish....leaving no later than 7:30.
