What's up all, checking in from Somerville, MA. Also checking in from Bridgewater, MA as I'm living down here with my girlfriend for the summer while my condo is under renovation. I've been riding about 10 years, most of which has been on my 2001 Victory V92. She's a bit rough around the edges but I love it anyway. Pretty basic stuff; 2:1 pipe, S&S intake, Lloydz fuel controller. Here she is:
I've been lusting over Speed Triples for the last couple of years and finally pulled the trigger on one in March. It's a 2013 Speed Triple R, here still on the showroom floor:
And here it is as it sits today with Arrow low mount, bar end mirrors and tidy tail. Bonus points if you know where this picture was taken:
I have a few R&G bits I'm slowly getting installed, pretty much just frame and wheel sliders. Nothing fancy, hopefully will keep stuff from getting too busted up when I eventually lay it down.
I'm a transplant from NC, been up here about 2 1/2 years now. I used to live in Swanzey, NH until I was 14, my Dad still lives in the area. If you're wondering about the screen name, My other hobby is Jeeping. I've been using this one on the Jeep forums I frequent for years an I'm honestly too lazy to think of another. For those interested, here's my '08 Wrangler in it's last configuration:
It's currently under the knife in my shop in Brockton getting one ton axles, 40's, a 12" wheelbase stretch, and a custom suspension job among other things.
I also have an '88 Wrangler I just picked up a few months ago that I'm building for light to moderate trail use. Just getting a set of 33's, mild lift, and I'm building a set of axles for it. Only picture of that I have is sitting on the trailer the day I bought it so I'll refrain from posting that...
Anyway, just a friendly hello, looking forward to participating in the forum, I'm a sucker for tech talk. Hopefully I'll also get a chance to get out on some rides with y'all.

Welcome!
Nice rides! And that Jeep looks fun.
Duncan??
Michel Francois
Which jeep club(s) are you in?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Welcome! and I love the Speed Trip R!
Appreciate the props on the speedy. I absolutely love it. Torque is incredible and the low gearing makes it a rocket well into triple digits. I was really close to going for an I4 liter bike but I just kept coming back to the speedy.
I'm director of trails for Baystate and I'll be with NE4WI once I finish my '08.
Mike, what's up bud, still waiting on that ride!

Welcome. I may have met you at the Skellig. Max was introducing me around. I'm across the street from you in Arlington.

Welcome to the forum. I work over in Chelsea so I might run into ya someplace. Watch for the old guy on a Silver ZX11.
I want to pull a schleppy... I ride your Speed Triple R and you ride schleppy's hard to sell FZ1... for just 1 month that's all. If he sell's you'd have to give up his bike but I continue to ride your bike for the duration of the month. After that you can store it in my garage where I will hold the key. Agree?shhhh...I hope he falls for this. How do you think I lay claim to all "my" bikes?
Seems like an alright deal, you sure you wouldn't be getting the short end of the stick?

Yeah I'd be good! Maybe I could be persuaded to let you take my Thruxton... Although I've only let a select few take my beauty. Hahaha!
How many miles on the R?
Not as much as I'd like, only about 1,200 so far.
You still have your S3? Stalked your profile after I saw the avatar....

Yup the links in my signature are the bikes. 15k on my Speedy
They're hard to stay off of. You'll probably be interested in an upcoming project I have. I just sent some cash down under and will be receiving a joint venture between TuneBoy and Racecomp. Should result in about 150 rwhp![]()

Racecomp developed a set of cams for the 1050. Basically just a bit longer duration, the horsepower and torque curves remain pretty much the same, just a lot more of it. They worked with Wayne at TuneBoy to get a nice baseline tune but it does need to be modified a bit depending in your intake and exhaust combination. Results are +20 - 30 HP depending on your setup. Cams work for all 1050 motors but tuning is easy on the 2011+ models as they allow for live tuning.
I'm going to work with Rob's Dyno for the tune. Guy seems to really know his shit and has a lot of experience with TuneBoy products.
Cams are definitely a bit pricey, but a potential of 30 HP bump isn't going to come cheap. The cams also ship with the cable interface and an ECU key. TuneBoy sells the package and Wayne sets up the cams on his bench motor for each unit he ships. Last word I got from them was Tuesday where he said he's going to set mine up this week and should have them shipped out by early next week. Hopefully in the next month I'll have everything setup.

Is that picture Nahant? Thats my guess...maybe Lynn.
Nahant is correct! It's at the entrance to the Northeastern research facility. Great spot to kick back and take a 10 minute break.
It's definitely going to be a big jump, I'm envisioning 3rd gear power wheelies![]()
I did consider going to a 45T in the rear but that's a lot for a bike already geared so low.

Welcome to nesr.
You're familiar with field&forest? That's the only connection I have to wheeling.
Cliff's Cycles KTM
NETRA enduro B-vet
Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Yeah I love field and forest, great track there, probably some if the best wheeling around.

V92 is gone, trading her in for a '13 Triumph Bonneville SE. I like the Thruxtons a lot but for the $1,100 price difference I can change out the mid controls to rear sets, drag bars or clip ons, and put a seat on it for less. The SE paint job is sweet, red frame, flat black with a flat red stripe.
