Well it's been a costly ice season. First the set up of an ice toy, then the travel to use the ice toy for one weekend, and today while getting my snow shovel out of the shed, i slipped on some ice and fell and ripped open a huge hole in my new hoody sweatshirt as it got cought on the ice screws while falling down

I had a winter coat that I've had since about high school. It was perfect for ice riding. I was standing in front of a guys bike out on the lake, when out of no where I fall for no reason. I had been standing still in the same spot for about 10 min. I scrambled for something grab on to to no avail and my forearm ended up right on the front tire. Jacket done.

Yeah, I figured. You also got a REAL motor in that thing, not like my little lawmower engine. Air cooled 2v single 360. Just not enough gusto to push the really wide plow.

I figure the 6" difference won't help too much, but I didn't want to go too big or too small and regret it. This was the max recommended for my rig, so we'll see how she does.

Recommended by who? When it's at max angle, you'll want it to be able to still clear a path wide enough for your quad. I know my 5 footer BARELY does so for my pig at full angle...

The manufacturer of the plow. I did the measurements, should be wide enough at full angle for what they give as dimensions.

I didn't have a chance to check it yesterday, but I'm not holding out much hope any more. This storm ended the same way as the one that fucked us to start with - a coupla hours of freezing rain on top of about a foot of snow. I dunno now, I just dunno...

What's the weekend weather up there? hearing a possible storm..or maybe not..for this Saturday. They've widened the range pending what you watch or listen to and we could get anywhere from 1-12", or it could be all rain, and there's a chance we will get nothing

I think the ice up here just didn't have time to set-up before bearing the weight of all this snow. The ice fishing pricks certainly didn't help either - drilling smack dab in the middle of the track. That gave the water an inlet to just keep pouring onto the track. I also think the clean ice surface (the track) was giving the water an easy place to go when the slush was melting under the snow...

Like I said, if you wanna head up early tomorrow, I'm game to have at it. We've only got a few more weekends. And I'm not going out on this fucked up ice alone...

If the ice is in any kind of shape that we can work with it I'll head up and spend the day out there, but I have some errands to do in the morning, so I don't know what time I'll get there by. Let me know if there's any point to working on it, preferably with the plow, not my back.
