Busy week, but assuming my KTM tires are mounted and I can pick them up this week, and I don't run into any challenges putting the donor motor in the Honda tomorrow night, I should be ready x2 by this weekend.

I hurried up and converted the KTM to ice ice baby doody last Friday night in the hopes of riding Saturday. Woke up Saturday AM and decided not to.
Last night I found a puddle of oil under the thing.

Might just be the counter shaft seal retracting a bit due to the cold. I've noticed mine will mark the floor once it gets below 40 degrees in my garage.

I'm pretty sure it's the crack in the case that I haven't replaced yet. My JB fix for man cation probably let go. I have a new case cover to fix. Just no time.

Crack in the case, or side cover? Big difference there. 2 strokes need so little oil in the gearbox it's not even funny. I used .5 liters in my honda, and often less. When the clutch gets grabby, add a little. lol.

Side cover. Clutch side. Terminology failure. You're supposed to know what I mean.
Looks like PO lost one of the two oil drain plugs and replaced with a wrong-sized bolt from the hardware store. I found out when I went to tighten (to spec!) and the cover cracked. Pretty sure most of the gear box oil is on the floor of my garage right now.
I jb welded the shit out of it to get through man cation. Ordered parts right away. Have 'em. Will get to it.

There is such a thing as too little gearbox oil in a Honda. I've got a boat anchor sitting in my CR frame that says so.

The CR250 ran completely dry, for an unspecified amount of time, and eventually something inside broke.
