Talking so i bought a bike today

yup, 1974 Honda CB550. mostly all origional...with the vintage 1970s touring extras. crash bars with usless highway pegs, hard bags, top rack and sissy bar...and cigarette lighter, sadly no vetter windjammer. i bought it off the second owner who has had it since '76 (4th heart attack forces sale) his father bought it new in 74. only 9,599 origionaly miles...or roughly 3 oil changes by milage. it lived on marthas vinyard so it does have some pitting, but it was garage kept so it is fairly minor. needs some sprucing up but nothing crazy. should make a nice little cafe racer once i'm done with it.

pics. to follow in the AM. i ran out of light.

well, here she is...not much to look at now, but every project must start somewhere.

crash bars are horrid and will be removed post haste. rubber fork gaiters just scream pimp though...i suspect they will be all the rage on chrome gixxas soon.

original paint ain't too bad. one micro ding in tank. i've never owned a bike with bags before...i kinda like the idea of being able to carry shit, novel. can cafe racers have bags?

one overhead cam shaft is enough, two is just extravigant. giant red thing in front is not a turbo, just a huge aftermarket horn...ick.

    vroom, vroom.
