installed the Tre 2 days ago and today just rode for first time ...bike idles at 2500 with clutch out and in N with clutch in bike idles at 1500 was never like this before this stupid thing ....do i take this out ?or do i adjust the idle set screw?
i bought 2 of these one for my bike the other for my buddys his is idling high also but not as high as mine ...thanks
shoulda got the smart tre, its suppose to adjust the idle in nuetral.
i just bought a reg tre too from fuel moto, hopefully i dont have any problems with the idling.
you bought the smart or regular? do you notice any difference in performance? i need to get a pc3 still so i dont even know if im gonna bother running mine right now.
It's screwed, and the smart TRE may give you problems with the PCIII
Just go to radioshack, spend 69 cents, and wire the damn thing in yourself....
Why is it that I NEVER had a problem with TRE's but when people start to make and sell them Like IVAN's 80 dollar one....There are always problems....80 friggen dollars? For 4 pieces of wire, a 6 cent resistor, and 2 connectors?
I'm in the wrong business.....
Hey Johnny, 02telifonica.....you got a problem with your TRE?
Oh..Busa's need 6.9 k/ohm for the resistor, as well as the gixxer 1k's...TLR's need a 15 k/ohm

Here's the schematic.....do it yourself!
This is the switched one...once bike warms up, turn it on!

On my TL-R, the idle races A LITTLE when the clutch is in. Maybe like, a few hundred RPM. Just enough to hafta re-get used to takin' off. But not nearly as dramatic as what you're describing...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
You guys realize that the TRE DOES NOT INCREASE HORSEPOWER.
It removes the timing retard in the 1st 3 gears, just gives you more get up and go..
I've heard different problems stated, but I think it's the units that are being produced that are the problems...Like I said before..I never had a problem with my own installs.

I've got a smart TRE for my TL. It shows 5 while in 1-5, N for N and 6 for 6. No issues.
TLMan - What issues will the TRE cause w/ a PCIII? Will TRE cause an issue if reprogramming ECU w/ a TEkE box (I'm assuming its like a Yosh box?). Rob from Rob's Dyno will be setting it all up, mentioned that he would want to reprogram instead of PCIII. He knows what he's doing, just like to have add'l info.
Suzuki is afraid that everyone will wheelie or top speed their bikes by accident so they retard the timing in 1st-3rd and 6th. The Timing Retard Eliminator (TRE) is a resistor that is put in between the ECU and gearbox to trick Zukis into believing they're in 4th gear so the retarding never happens. As for Power Commanders, most of the maps are fuel flow only so the TRE mod doesn't matter. If the map also adjusts timing, then the TRE would be an issue.
On my 600 the TRE made acceleration and deceleration substantially smoother. My 750 has a gear indicator so I never TREd it.
PS. In support of what TLRMan has been saying, I clipped the wire and soldered in a resistor. No fancy gizmos for me either.
suzuki didnt want the bike to be limited its a federal law. the first year or two the bus came out they didnt have the timig retarder and they came with 220mph gauges.
just another case of the man holding us down, haha
But they wouldn't go there anyway....
Even unrestricted, they will only run to about 188 - 189 mph.
Big deal, 3 more MPH, than the restricted 186 (300 kph) International law
Takes close to 200 HP to push a stock chassis Busa over 200 mph, never mind 220...So, if a Stock Busa makes 162 HP, you do the math.....maybe that's why the last time a guy who owned a Busa told me he went 215 mph on it, I told him he was full of shit, and I was the wrong person to be laying that kind of crap on....Same goes for a guy with a Blinged up 160 HP RC-51 that I blew the side covers off of..... I didn't know my TLR made THAT kind of Horsepower!

Thanks for the explination. I belive the Kawi's zx-10's and up have the same thing.
