I was interested in the EU turn signals for my 1290, but I was concerned that if I ever busted one by dropping the bike I'd never be able to get a single replacement. At least the crappy halogen signals can be easily acquired here in the US.

Actually ordering them from the EU only took a few days. They seem a bit stronger than the US ones, but not overly so. The benefit in them not sticking out as far is hopefully they wont get hit as much? wishful thinking perhaps.

Wanted the cyclops signals as they bend, but on ly saw them after I ordered the EU ones. You can order single replacements easily as well.

the kit number for the 790/890 is 76014937044

if you order the kit it comes with the 4 signals and the relay and is about 1/2 the price of ordering everything seperately.

Couldn't have been any harder than doin a wheelie on one of these things... Honda XRE300

I really liked em, but I couldn't wheelie it for shit.

On the bright side, you can fix a missing oil filter seal with a conventional hair tie

I like those XRE300 - perfect bike for South America. Great seat, decent fuel tank and mileage. Simple. Can do highway speed. To me they are the equivalent of a Subaru Crosstrek - great for the terrible roads :-)

ya'll lack balls any dual sport will wheely

the power isn't strong enough to make the initial lift, so you HAVE to clutch it...if you can't figure out how much rpm/gas and clutch to use, stand staggered w' your left foot on the rear peg. unloading the weight off the front should be enough to get it started.

the DR200SE was also remarkably terrible to wheelie compared to an XR100, so you just gotta change the technique

Don't speak until you have tried it. I was in Guatemala with an incredible wheelier, and our guide was a national hard enduro champ. We all agreed the the Honda Tornado does NOT wheelie easily with any technique. The XR 100 and DR 200 are stunt bikes comparatively.

Did a portion of the Tomato trail yesterday. Would have gotten it all done, but took a little excursion into some swampy mud that took longer than expected. She started out clean....not so much anymore!

Wheel /Tire combo did great in the swampy bog. Most of the puddles looked small until you entered them. Definitely have to get used to the weight and height of this thing....many dirt naps due to loss of footing.

Glad you were able to ride it. I haven't gotten out on it yet this year.

    Where are the powerlines?

I'd be wary of venturing off on to the power lines unless you know they are open to public use. Most of the powerlines in this area are now closed and on private land, with the exception of a few in Richmond (that I know of).

I have to believe these are public there were no signs, except there was a sign for a bypass to get around the swamp

Not all of them are signed and/or gated, and a lot of them that are signed are usually for snowmobilers.

Not saying it's not illegal there (because I don't know) just that you should be cautious on the powerlines, as most of the land under the lines is privately owned in southern NH.

Had a great couple of hours on the local class 6 roads. The new Ohlins setup is the bomb, rides 1000x better and the bike doesn't land like a grand piano anymore.
