My brother *just* got the body work back, and I have not seen it yet! He told me that it came out *Beautiful*! He will be arriving up here next Friday - Saturday will be a family reunion type gig, and he and I are off to the R-O-R on Sunday! He has something like 27 bikes right now, and he loves rebuilding cheap oldies. I, on the other hand, have only 3 - a DR650, a Ninja 250, and my street plated KDX200. He had a very nice XS650 street tracker (KR colors) but sold it before I got a chance to ride it. He shipped me one very nice RZV (japanese version, aluminum frame) 500 in parts, from germany a few years back. The lady at the post office was laughing at me (she was a rider as well) as I would keep returning to pick up a wheel one day, another wheel the next, then the frame, a fairing, etc..
He also has an awesome SR500, with a hand hammered aluminum tank, full White Brothers motor, pumper barb, Supertrapp pipe, etc. that I held on to while he was stationed in germany. I got my only MC ticket on that bike -something like 80 in a 45, but I was much younger then...
He had to sell his RZ350 because he almost lost his license - for good - with that bike. The Army didn't like that, I guess...
You guys have posted up some incredible looking machinery here! I am looking forward to meeting all of you at the R-O-R.
Dynotune -What is that bike? It looks incredible!
Looking at these two strokes makes me want one really badly. Maybe I can find an R5 or an RD350-400 motor and wedge it into the Ninja 250 chassis... The little 250 is a blast to ride, but my daughter wants something bigger, which would free it up. I have read about some successful transplants.
I also sold my brother my bone stock 1979 RD400 Daytona Special and I later found him a set of Gold anodized DG radial heads for it. He still has all of that stuff, I think. The bike was a little rough, and needed a good restoration, but it still had the original pipes and paint.
I will own one of those one day...... is he riding it to Rice O Rama? I would love to see it! A friend of mine got the first one in England when they came out, he had it 5 weeks and totalled it at the Isle of Man on mad Sunday!! It was fast for the time, and it had a clock!!!
Yes! He will be riding it to the R-O-R. I hope that we have beautiful weather like we are having now!
Its a hyosung gt 250r...made by suzuki...even has a suzuki title. The engine is a 535cc two stroke from an rz350...with lots of work LOL. The bike is very quick... handles real well. see ya all there!
My brother e-mailed last night and told me that the GS has a charging issue, so it will not be making an appearance.
I think that maybe he just doesn't want to ride it in the rain...![]()
Not supose to rain tommorow...maybe a quick shower late afternoon.
what time is everyone meeting and where? I'll be there in the cage looking for RD parts...
Yeah, there was some awesome machinery there.

sorry I missed you! So many bikes to see and tons of cool folks! Had a ball. nice pics. Kick myself for not bringing my camera. best show this year!
Yeah, I was admiring Dyno's bike also, superb engineering! Also saw a street legal RG500 in the parking lot with CT plates on it... hmmm.
Only saw one GS1000S but it was fitted with a Bandit motor and some GSXR suspension parts and wheels.. very nice!
I scored a pair of mint RZ clocks for $50 and a chin fairing for $2! for my restoration this winter.
Loki I saw your RD too.. nice machine. I gathered a lot of knowledge and talked to a few people that were selling RD parts or raced RD's. IT was a good day.
Did Anyone see the RZ(?) motor in the Hyosung chassis in the bike show? It got me thinking....
That was my bike.... 535cc RZ engine... 120hp... gotta love it LOL.
I saw tha gs...i did not notice the bandit engine....cool... now, that gs1150 beside me from HitMan cycles is awsome!
That Prostreet GS was fucking bad ass...
I was also looking at the red 83' 1100e, I used to race one in Epping 20 years ago...
I put my business card on thebike and asked him to call me if he wanted to sell it.
Yellow light, green light, heart stands still...
This show sucked. Thanks to this show, I'm going to be broke as shit for years to come. I spent some time w/ the guy with the stock looking RZ500, and confirmed I want one. Then I found out the "must do" list for those bikes... it's not simple or cheap. At least I know what my next street project is, but the # of years and price tag are not pleasant.
Duck, when did you bail? I was there from ~1 to close, must have been everywhere at least 3x, and didn't see you.
Oh well, we'll catch up at some point. If the needing snell 2010 helmets for next year rumor is true, I'll be hunting you down to hire your painting skills anyway![]()
Why get an rz500..... get an rz hop up rz350 engine in it! just as quick as a stock rz500
here is a 385 rz engine power rz350 video...
http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=GOPR0072.mp4
use the bike as a base and upgrade the wheels and suspension etc...for $6k you could have a killer custom bike that hauls!
Simple to work on, parts are cheap. I owned an rz500 and a ns400r...you dont want one LOL

Dynotune,
I had this exact conversation w/ AJ aka 6 fingered man on the way back from Rice O Rama. I just love the look of the RZ500, they're cool as hell and not too common. No way I'd leave the motor stock, I'm thinking phase IV from Bill Wilson.
That said, your vid is sick, and does beg the question should I stick with a 350? It's food for thought. The 500 I wanted isn't looking so hot, dude didn't answer my call today or get back to me. If that one falls through maybe I'll look at building a 350, it's certainly a hell of a lot cheaper.
Do the 350's take the R6 front end and S/A like the 500s?
I don't really like the look of the 350, where the 500 looks badass. I'd definitely want full fairings, but I suppose I could put full fairings on anything. It's food for thought if this 500 I'm already interested in doesn't come through.
The way the powerband comes on in that vid is insane... I love it!
Dyno, That vid is pure 2 stroke porn. That thing is quick!![]()
