I had posted a while back that I had lowered my DRZ-s for my daughter, and how proud I was that she had started riding. Today, I bought her a 1999 Ninja 250 (Kawasaki Green) with 2,900 miles on it! The bike is in almost perfect condition, with only one small minor scratch in the fairing. It has had two previous female owners, and I know them both, so I know that it has *never* been beat on.
Now, all I have to do is stick a bow on it!
She is going to flip out!

Where around the house does one hide a Ninja 2-fity? I know it's a smaller package but I've yet to see a closet shelf that will hold.![]()
Awesome gift. I wish my parents would buy me a bike for x-mas, all I'm getting is bike accesories.

Nice! More girl riders the merrier!

Jennifer is 19, just broke up with her boyfriend (single), petite, and *Asian*.
Oh, and she loves her Horse, Freckles.
I will just put the bike in the garage, stick a big bow on it, and throw a sheet over it. No sense in trying to hide the bike. I told her about it already. She was at work, so I stopped in to see her. She jumped up and hugged me so hard that she almost broke my arms!
At 19, Jen has had more heartbreak than anyone deserves. Her first long term boyfriend was tragically killed in a quad accident 2 1/2 years ago, and that messed us all up really baddly (I loved the kid like my own son, and he was a recovering cancer patient, so all combined, the event probably messed me up more than her..but that's another story). The next boyfriend was a big leap for her, and, well, lets just say that the break up was probably for the best for both parties.
So, now she's single, and enjoying her new found freedom, hanging with her girl friends, and the bike will definately put some sparkle in her eye for Christmas.
When I was young, I always envisioned getting a Yamaha Mini-Enduro for Christmas, or a Honda XL70, or ST-90, but it never happened. I did get guns, though, and that was pretty cool. So, even though this Ninja is not brand new, I am sure that it will be new-enough to get her heart rate up, and I am looking forward to the big reveal.
Merry Christmas Everybody!

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
Nice job. I look forward to the day I buy my daughter her first motorcycle.
Awesome! My daughters are only 7 and 9 so I have a way to go, but this post has inspiried me to want to buy their first motorcycle for them! Nice present, good job, merry xmas!
Great parenting!

Jennifer went PW50 - PW80 (rode a "nervous novice" enduro on it) - Blaster 200 (to get the clutch/shifting/powerband skills down) - XR100 - DRZ400s (lowered, way lowered), and now the Ninja 250. Jen is very petite so she would have a hard time reaching the ground on anything much bigger. I may even have to drop some lowering links onto the 250, but we will have to see if she is going to need them. I hope to be able to get away without them.
very cool present, you looking to adopt? I am in the market for a parent that will buy me a bike...
awesome gift!

Jen is not actively seeking another male companion at this point, (at least that's what she tells me) but I do hope to get her out on some group rides this coming season, so an introduction is entirely possible.
Once I have the bike in the garage and hand the keys over I will post a pic of her on it.
One problem that I did not see coming is that....I think my wife is *jealous*?
Time to get her trained up on the XR!

Believe me, at 19, soon to be 20 (in Feb), she can stand on her own. It's me. I'm an older guy, so a lot of the stuff I read here makes me, eh, wonder...about the younger generation. This site has really opened my eyes, in terms of what goes through the minds of young folks today in general. It's all mostly good stuff, a few hot tempers, some great creativity, and every once in a while somebody speaks before they think. So, nothing's changed since I was 16. Except for this whole internet thingy.
