Over priced..under powered..sorry dude...spend the cash on a KTM or a Honda/Yamaha 450 and moto it on your own. Hate to tell ya that, but it's the truth.

KTM 450 SRM $7,498.00 + on-road kit (two hundred bucks for directionals and lights and mirrors?)= $7,700

Yamaha YZ450F $6,399 + supermoto kit = $7,399

Probably a heck of alot more than a grand to update a crf40 for supermoto use on the street. Take at look at the prices for wheels, braking and tires let alone all the lighting needs.

That's not to say that I wouldn't love to own the KTM520 motard bike that was up at Loudon for the track day on Aug 27th. That bike was sweeeeeet.

Dood, I already have a 1200. I'm not lookin to have something as fast or powerful.

I'm not buyin a bike like this to compete with it. I want something new, light and nimble, with a warranty, that hasn't been raced, that's a super-moto, that's rideable on the street with lights and mirrors. I don't want to have to try to get a title for it, I don't want to have to buy a conversion kit, I don't want to worry about getting it inspected, etc. This is an out of the box fun little bike that every manufacturer should put out in similar dress.

If they take the CRF450 or the YZF450 and make it into a street bike, I'll be all over it. Right now Suzuki is the only people smart enough to take spare parts and make a desirable bike out of it.

KTM's are way too expensive for what you get.

And why would I buy a used YZF450 motard for $6,000 when I can get a brand new SV650 for less?

I agree, Zook is pretty smart, aren't they?

Cuz SV's aren't as fun to race as Moto's...that's why. AND...when you bin the moto, you spend..oooh...I'd saaay..35 dollars on new handle bars...as opposed to 750 on sets, clips, screen, and whatever the hell else snaps off of it. I like the fact that parts are so cheap for these thinng comparatively speaking that is. An SV would be HELLA fun to rip around the track...I'll lean toward something like that as I get my nutz back from the last crash. But for now, budget racing has never been more fun!

Ponder this Clay..when the hell is Yammy and Honda gonna figure out they are sitting on a goldmine with respect to mass producing streetable moto's? AND, how long ya think it'll take for them to do it?

I already told you anytime you are feeling froggy enough to leap out on to the track and actually race, as opposed to jut fokin around on a closed course...just let me know. I'll make sure I'm the first one to spank you all over the track. AND..AND..I'll even use my slow ass 400 Honda to do it.

...I should also point out that R7's bike isn't a YZ450, but a WR450. The YZ(426/450) was/is his race pig. The WR450 is the one for sale.

The WR has a street plate, legit title, signals, head/tail lights, and a starter. Not to mention a trick wheelset and dirty tires if you ever decide to get serious in the woods.

Warranty? dude its a dirtbike with street tires, puhllease

p.s. ..are you thinking of commuting with this thing? or extended duration hwy. rides?
