Hey, Southern Vermont/Albany, NY area rider looking to hookup with other riders in the area and also do some track days. Was gonna' start a local sport riding club, but if NESR works out, awesome!
Welcome aboard.
Many of the members here travel out your way quite often. You are blessed with some really nice roads!
Who are you looking into for trackdays?
So far, I've found Tony's Track Days and then Boston Moto. I also understand that there's a group that organizes track days at the Glen.
BTW, tried to ride to work today...man, it's just my finger tips that kill me. The '14 throws of plenty of heat, but the wind just kills my fingers. Gotta' invest in some heated gear like the snowmobilers.
I thought Watkins Glen didn't allow bikes?
Tony's is a great organization to start off with. They have a way of taking the stress level way down. Some new trackday riders can get a bit overwhelmed with all the information to process....bike setup, acceptable gear, familiarizing where everything is at the tracks, etc.
And on the heat, go with Gerbing's. Sadly, I managed to bust something my left glove so I gotta send 'em back...otherwise, I'm very happy with those mitts. Gonna be a chilly ride home in about 15 minutes!
Oh, crap, I at least waited 'till about 9AM to try. You're riding now!?! Tires gonna' be like granite...ride like granny, okay? Be safe man.
Heard the same 'bout the Glen too. I'm investigating. Same with Lime Rock.
Riding always! Working 2nd shift (OT tonight) ain't gonna hold me down!
Tires sound like plastic for a good while......kinda like a Power Wheels but with 130 horse...
I find it amusing because there are only two bikes that are at work almost daily (just like last year)....one guy on a Wee-strom who works in another section of the building and myself.
I do it for the love of the sport!
Time for me to check out.
Again, welcome to the forum!

Yeah, me too. I never "put the bikes up". Be safe.
BTW, just picked up a great tandem axle trailer. Gonna' convert it to support three to four bikes. This Jan./Feb. I'm hoping to trailer the '14 down south of the Mason Dixon line to somewhere warm for a week of riding. Deal's Gap would be nice, but I doubt the weather will support it. May have to push deeper south.
Welcome!
Ah the Glen
I grew up going to the Prototype races there before they
changed the "boot"
Yesterday I applied 50% throttle and spun up the rear. Wooo hooo. This morning was like a heat wave @ 10deg warmer than yesterday.
Come do a Tony Track Day. I'll be gentle with you.
Keep an eye out for Doc. He and his Burlington crew make many TTD Group trips.

Didn't Keith Code used to run a school at Watkins Glen?
Hey, NT650HAWK, thanks for offer and will do. Yeah, you'll have to be "gentle" with me I guess...never been on a track with a bike, but my tire wear patterns on my '07 ZX-14 encourage me (even wear...right to the bloody edges!!)!! She's big, powerful, AND CAN DANCE TOO !!!![]()
Hey, TBONEHEDGE, thanks for the tip on the 'Glen. If there isn't any trackdays going on there, it might be time to get it organized. Will keep digging for info.
I hear ya a spririted rider.
I have well over 10,000 miles worth of chicken strips on my street 929 along with a 1" flat spot in the middle of my front and a 2" flat spot on the rear tires.

Thanks, everyone, for welcoming me. Can't wait to hookup a ride. ....but damn it's cold at anything over 60MPH, sheesh!
NT650HAWK, no I don't know TDS Architects. I work in Schenectady, NY at the Knolls Atomic Power Lab. (US DOE/NAVY) facility. I just sleep here in Vermont...![]()
Riding in Albany/Schenectady is very much an experience of defensive riding techniques!!! Crap, do I have a friggin' bullseye on my chest and back? The damn ZX-14 is huge, with monster lighting, but nooooo, of course the cages just don't "see" us.
Can't see with your head up your ass. (not "you"...well, you know what I mean)
