Have a few buddies who ride. I owned a Gsxr 600 many many years ago but sold it. Grew up riding quads and all that fun stuff. I got the bug again and after I either sell or trade my project car hoping to get into a cruiser. Not really looking for anything too specific just something that can be comfortable with 2 adults in needed. If anyone knows anyone who might want to swap a 88 Ford Turbo Coupe thats been modded for a running cruiser style bike LMK lol. If not ill be financing something next year im guessing![]()

So quick questions here...since I know most likely I cant swing a HD Dyna or ST for a while. What would be a cheaper metric alternative for a cruiser? I keep seeing Vstars and Shadows for pretty cheap prices. Is there a catch to how cheap they are asides from not being a HD lol?

Where are ya in the nutmeg state? Want to buy a defunct goldwing?
A guy l work with has a Kawasaki Vulcan. Reliable as all hell and from the right side, looks just like a Harley. Left side doesn't look bad but you can tell it's metric.

So my car is getting sold..time to try to find something. My budget sucks only like $2000 to play with but there is a bunch of metric cruisers for sale in my state. I dont know anything about them except mostly everyone says they are all reliable. I was digging this Suzuki Volusia but idk anything about them http://newlondon.craigslist.org/mcy/5162797498.html
Suggestions are appreciated the sooner I find something the sooner I can ride lol
Are you only looking for a cruiser or would you consider a vmax or something along those lines?
Your 2g will go a lot further in a couple months if you can hold out that long.
I think maybe a cruiser just because of the comfort for a possible trip with a passenger. I just checked out a pretty clean 93 Yamaha virago 750. Has 18,000 on it and it looks stock. Has leather bags and it starts right up. I made him a offer of $1500 so im waiting to hear back.
If I was in your position is look for a similar year Honda vfr, it's got a basically upright riding position but is also very sporty, they will handle 2 up without a problem, saddle bags are available. additionally the v4 is probably the most exciting engines out there. Your bound to be able to get one in very good shape for your budget I've really been eyeing the new vfr/interceptor myself, if only my wife could get a job I'd have a new vfr for 2up and long rides, a ducati 899 for sporty rides and as a daily commuter, then make my cbr into a track bike!!!!! Sorry for the derailment, good luck with whatever you do pick up and I am just over state line in mass and always looking to ride, still got a little over 2 months of good riding left this season!!!!
Just make sure a cruiser is what you really want. A possible one up trip doesn't mean you should buy a bike just for that possibility and be stuck with it 99% of the time. Its very very rare to find an all cruiser ride on this and other forums.
Like stated a vfr is a good way to go. I have a hornet and its good as well. Something with a bit of raceness to it can keep you wanting to ride more.
I have a big ole Harley cruiser and I just don't ride it much. Its to much of "just a cruiser". Only thing it does well is carry a passenger and go in a straight line, everything else is sub par. My hornet does everything well so I don't need to ride the Harley. Cruisers have there place, just make sure its your place too.

I agree with the VFR UJM (universal Japanese motorcycle ) line of thinking. An FZ6, 8, or 1 , Honda 919 (Hornet) , Ninja 1000 all good choices. VFR's are great do everything bikes. Unless you just WANT a cruiser, then that's fine too.

Its possible if somebody cross posted it..but I didnt do it. It was sold today actually. I need to take down all these posts.
I went and looked at a 05 Shadow Aero but the owner couldnt locate the title after we drove like 45 mins. I didnt leave with it but made them an offer on the condition that it can be still be registered in my name. The bike is currently registered so im looking to see if it possible. I know they can do a title search or duplicate title. But by the time that happens ill be looking for something else.
If I have time tomorrow im gonna take a ride to DMV and see what needs to be done. If its a matter of waiting on paperwork then im not dealing with it.
