I've met some of you at the Newbury pose and Honey Dew, but I wanted to make an official introduction.
After a thirty year hiatus from riding, (AKA "my so-called marriage") I picked up a 2001 SV650 and managed to get about 2600 miles in this season.
I've got my skills and stamina to the point where I'd be just moderately annoying on a group ride. Most of my initial miles were around town commuting, so I started going out on them roads with trees instead of stop lights. Started out doing the speed limit (or under) and a few months later find myself thinking "wow, that speed limit is way under what it should be" - progress, I guess.
I also make noise, I mean music, for fun, play piano and Hammond organ in a few kickass blues bands.

Always looking for folks that live in or near town to hit the roads on weekends.

Welcome to NESR.
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
If it's less confusing, just call me Dan, which is what most people call me when they're not calling me Dave or Don or something else because they clearly could not recall that my name is Dan.. hmm.. gotta get some decaf.
Mongoose, used to gig a lot with a Wurly 200 because they were about half the weight of a Rhodes. I played those "vintage" keyboards when they were new and have the hernia surgery scars to prove it. I've got a 1950 Hammond C2 and leslie in my living room, but I gig with Nord keyboards because they're 1/10th the weight and fit in my Accord.
My dad once told me "Money can't buy you love - but it can get you something so close you won't care." I could paraphrase that to apply to the current generation of computer emulated electromechanical instruments - it sounds so good I don't care, and my back and arms can function after a full weekend of gigs.
If anyone's interested, the next gig is Dante's Firefly BBQ in Quincy on Oct 4 - the food is supposed to be great.
Firefly's Quincy Location
This is a fairly authentic blues band so don't expect to hear Mustang Sally or Bon Jovi (not that there's anything wrong with that, of course:) but you can expect some Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Ry Cooder, Stevie Ray, Ray Charles, Little Feat, Otis Redding, BB King, etc.

I live just over in Quincy and I just picked up an 03 sv a little over a month ago and have been working on making 'er legal for the street. Im paying to the gods that its a mild winter so I can get on 'er ASAP. but first i gotta get a new job....speaking of which. Anybody know any places looking for help?
welcome to NESR!
Nice spending a little time with you today at my place of business...Enjoy those pants.
Doug
Hey Doug, good to "run into" you here. Yeah, not too hard to figure out the SV guy from Cambridge with a handle like "Danno". So much for my secret identity.
The pants fit great, just a tad warm yesterday w/the liner. Had to open the zippers on the legs to stay cool. Probably caused three accidents by showing off my calves.
