Hey all. Just wanted to say hi. saw your thread on powdercoating in franklin and emailed phil. should be getting some work done. with him.
Pic of my vmax normally and how it looks right now (working on it a bit as you can tell). can't wait for the snow to clear!
just picked up a 2000 speed triple as well. probably put it up for sale in the spring tho.
Wait, so the wheels are normally off the bike?
Welcome.
Current Rides:
08 Ninja ZX-14
02 VMAX 1200
10 VMAX ZR-1700 (Factory closed course competition ECU)
05 ZX-6R (636) (The modified trackday scooter, but still registered for the street)
engine internals are stock. i have a exhaust and jet kit on it. i'm knocking on 120 rwhp's door and hoping to get over that mark this summer since i'll have an a/f meter and getting 02 bungs on my exhaust as we speak.
Did you mod the V-boost? I've heard of owners modding it with a switch so they can have it turned on before the 6k mark.
imagine running into you here! lots of good people here and most are extremely helpful. i as well, cant wait till the snow is gone. we're still sitting on the 33" we got last weekend.

U should throw a set of GSXR 1k forks on that......
i have gone thru quite a few of those settings. i had a switch on that did 6k,3k,off. i then put COPs on the bike which caused the reading of the ignition voltage (i think) to get all messed up and stop working. So i just put an on/off switch in and had it wide open for a long time. makes small throttle openings hit awesome! I have since gone back to a stock ignition as the COPs i had were faulty. Not sure if i'm going back to COPs but i got a new controller that will allow me to do 6k/always on/always off.
hey jeff. man 33" is no fun. as u can see it wouldn't affect me at all as the bike is in pieces.
my handling is pretty good honestly. I don't have the $1500 - $2k to spend on the USD triples and then a nice set of forks, plus the speedo/brake conversions etc. I have put a damper on mine and strengthened up the frame. i can drag the pegs pretty well and stable. Plus i just upgraded the springs and dropped my front end an 1"
hello and welcome. Love the Vmax, I used to own a 95. I miss that bike a lot, would love to have it as a second bike. AFter a while I just wanted something lighter so I sold it.
