Hey everyone!
Just picked up a my2000 one owner GSX600f Katana, It's my first bike, and I'm really excited to start riding regularly! It did, unfortunately, come with a cracked lefthand undercowling (broken in two pieces) from when it fell off a ramp from the previous owner, otherwise in great condition. Anybody know where I could get one of these for semi-cheap? Not down for paying 140.00 bucks for a new one. Anyway, I'm pumped to start riding as soon as I get it registered and everything. Anybody who has some info on the under cowling piece, advice is greatly appreciated!

Welcome Dan. Nice first bike choice. As for the broken plastic, $140 sounds pretty cheap. Kiss your savings account goodbye and welcome to the wonderful world of motorcycling.
You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style

Congrats.. I agree with cbr929re Just take it together from the inside.. leave it be, because I'm sure you'll end up moving on. My first bike also was a Katana, I'm onto bike #3 now..If you like it that much, then prepare to pay for it. Join katriders and see if you can find someone parting out a bike, but usually fairings go last and are $$
[QUOTE=CBR929RE;1033170]:huh: the Katana isn't a 2 stroke.
It would still smell good in a 4-stroke. Never tried it before. I just love the smell.

True, this is a starter bike. I think I'm going to attempt to repair the cracked piece, it's on the bottom of the bike anyway, cracked part is underneath, almost not visible. thanks for the welcomes!
Great starter bike! I had a 2000 Kat as my first street ride. As for the cracked part, try some salvage yards or e-bay. Or have it plastic welded as it's not a large piece. Or try some plastic adhesive and back it up. Not all that hard to cover on that piece.

I bought a Katana at a yard sale once. It was in NH though, not MA. True story!
