NH Welcomes Carl Crawford... the wrong way

I went to Thursday night's Fisher Cats game with my son and his many teammates from baseball camp.
There was great excitement and anticipation because Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford were expected to play as part of their rehab for the Red Sox affiliate, Portland Seadogs.
Ellsbury did not play, but Crawford did... much to the fans' delight. The crowd cheered mightily when Crawford hit a triple, then eventually scored.
Sadly, I learned on NESN that throughout the game, a fan had been heckling Crawford with racial slurs.
I can't fathom why nobody notified security as it was nearly a full house.
Needless to say, I am personally embarassed that Crawford had to be subject to such harassment... not the NH welcome he should have received!

Yeah, the sox need to stop going after big names & get back to farm system basics. They do a far better job of developing players than they do buying names, that's for sure....

Honestly, I don't know... but it certainly wasn't nice, and they were racial slurs.
According to NESN, several fans that were seated near the heckler called the station to confirm Crawford's claims.
I still can't get over the fact that none of these very same fans didn't have the loud mouth removed from the game!

It turns out that an off duty Leominster, MA police officer is believed to have been the heckler.
Way to represent the law enforcement community!
