Oreo_N2 (Brent) had one and would be the person to ask.
Good looking bike.
Is Aprilia a healthy company now ?
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
I rode one when Roadside had that Aprilia test day.
It was sweet.
Comfy, handled well, and had reasonable power, though its a far cry from many of the Jap big twins.
With pipes and chip(unrestricted) it's supposed to be around 115hp. My ZRX is 130hp now and I never get above 9k so I think the power will be about what I've got now but the delivery will be a little different.

Fantastic bike and 85 % of what a similar model year Mille' is. Great power, great chassis and lots of fun with a comfy ride. The rear shock depending on rider size should be re-sprung / revalved. A penske will clear it up for sure. for bigger riders they got a bit wallowie.

Ferrari Fix it Club Racing
ALMS, SCCA, LRRS, CCS, FUSA #'s 161, 62, 676, 661, 205, 12, 60, 89...
Karloff? Sidekick? FUCK YOU!! That cocksucker does not deserve to smell my shit!
You're not going to get rid of that heavily customized ZRX are you?

That ZRX seems a bit too trick to be sold. It's pretty unique IMO.
Though I do remember you were getting atrocious gas mileage when I went riding with you.
whats done to your rex? got any pics? i maybe interested if i sell my bike.
yepper. i had one.
very sexy bike.
very powerful.
handled great on the track.
i had an issue with it and have steered away from vtwins for the time being cause i couldn't be smooth enough with the throttle in mid turn scenarios where i had to up the gas a little. i think it was a rookie thing though.
you will get lots of looks and interested questions when you ride that bike.
with a chip and exhaust you can make it ride awesome.... feels 99% of the mille for power. and the chip that jesse from seacoast put in for me really smoothed out the power response.
changing the oil is a pain in the ass compared to other bikes. but do-able.
mine killed her battery a lot. the computer still draws while she sits. if she didn't start right away as a resuilt, it would drain it too much and then ya hafta bump start it. there was an issue with the starter switch that some attributed this too... like it was not connecting well enough to carry the current to start the bike. so when people say, push the button like you mean it... they mean it. Some also attributed it to the starter solenoid and swapped in a honda vfr solenoid. some attributed it to the vtwin needing such a surge at start and put in a 1 farad cap to help it start. all of these people swore their method and solution was THE right answer. all seemed to work. some were easier than others.
oh and whenever the battery voltage dips below some voltage threshold, like when she is trying to start but the battery is drained... the computer resets, at which time your display goes metric and the programmable red line warning light will start flashing at you at 6.5k rpms, scaring the crap outta ya the first time it happens. and i always needed to go dig up the manual to reprogram the thing.
other than that electrical gremlin... its an awesome machine, comfy, powerful, sexy and good handling. i do miss the vtwin rumble. there is nothing like making your bike bark and rumble down the streets of boston setting off every car alarm you pass!!!!

I'd say it is time to call up Mr. Muzzy and look into a turbo for that beast!
wow nice work on the rex! def keep us posted on what your doing with it. i would find it hard to sell it after putting in all that work.
I had a new set of ZZR cams and 12:1 forged pistons on my desk a coupla weeks ago but decided against it for reliability issues.... Heheheh......![]()
