It's rediculous. Look, I know a young child lost their life. For that, I feel horrible. But they got their wishes first when they raised the age, then when they banned 'em all together. Now, this isn't good enough. We'll dig up old ghosts and relive that horror once again because now we want that age raised again...
Education by ALL parties involved would go a helluvalot further than mandates that they don't have the manpower to enforce...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
that family knows nothing of motorized offroad vehicles.
Cliff's Cycles KTM
NETRA enduro B-vet
Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
I think we are heading to the point where all offroad vehicle use will be banned at least in Eastern MA.. and then the fingers will be pointed at mountain bikes. The safetycrat thing is a big deal, but the lack of land & worries about trail destruction will only become a bigger problem as well.
But I don't think there is any point in discussing it.. only thing is to try and vote in the right people. The folks trying to ban things are totally irrational.. they will try to get street motorcycles banned eventually as well... most of them have never touched a bike, heck probably can't even ride a bicycle, yet they know more then anyone here about what is right for motorcyclists.

My next question if it is illegal, who's gonna catch you?

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
A family that loses a child from something like this, champions a cause in the hope that they can feel better about not providing the child proper protection in the first place.
They desire to feel that their child not die in vain. Unfortunately, they are quite often misguided efforts.
It is much easier to get a law passed against something than it is to create a system for educating people in the proper use of a dangerous piece of equipment.
