bizzare food

.......ive been catching that "bizzare food" show with andrew zimmern.....i actually enjoy watching cause its informative and interesting....i havent had many weird foods...some BBQ from the phillipines(that we never REALLY never knew what it actually was....some tripe....thats about it...just wondered if anyone here has tried the truly bizzare..and did you like it?..or puke...?

I've had lamb brain once...it's a maroccan dish. I took one bite because my friends *really* wanted me to, so I did...first bite I thought I'd spit up the whole thing...it was mushy, spongeous texture...disgusting. Since I like a good thrill, I took a second bite, just to make sure I hated it...altho the "taste" was good, the texture was still disgusting. Yup...hated it. I almost swallowed the worm of a bottle of Mezcal once...*almost*.

i like trying interesting foods. fourtunatly i've got afew chances.

ostrich burger (served at fudruckers in FL)- loved it

camel burger (in baharain on shore leave)- pretty tough not much taste...eww.

rattle snake (at bbq in AZ)- kinda chickenish. i like snakes and felt kinda funny about it

afghani goat stew (in afghanistan)- freakin awesome, slow cooked all day, fresh everything.

hatian jerk pork knuckles (multi-cultural day in FL school)- like a pork chicken wing

i could go on, but i won't.ok one more. real burritos in mexico are awesome and huge, though lord knows what the meat is. they put the taco stands right near the clubs at closing time, clever bastards.

Two words people: Gefilte fish. A more bizzare food-type product there is not. Something about poached carp meal just doesn't do it for me. Shit's been shoved in my face my whole life...
