Honestly, I wouldn't do any type of FI to it. You can get some very good gains on an LS1 just doing the basic H/C/I/E on them and you won't have to worry about reliability at all.

I'm not sure on the corvette specific kits, but if it is tuned correctly then he shouldn't have to worry about reliability much with the FI as well.

All depends on how much boost we're talking about here. I'm sure he can safely run 8 psi or less without any problems. If I were going to put boost in the car it would be at least double that, which is were reliability would suffer without internal work. I never saw the point in dropping all that coin on FI and running low boost, it just isn't cost effective for the power you'll get and the downfalls of them. He can get low to mid 400 hp just with heads, cam, intake and exhaust with that motor which is what I would do. There are a lot of "I"s in there because that is just my opinion and in the end it's his car and he can do whatever he wants with it.

Ya is see what your saying, I would pretty much agree. I know the sts turbo kit on my hemi I could run 6psi or so safe, but as you said if you were to go higher you really need forged internals and such. Heads and all that would def. be badass

I generally hate interior colors other than solid black or solid gray, but THAT is very nice red black mix!

H/C's combo start to get very lopey when you get to the power level that he wants. Not to mention the everyday efficiency you loose. Turbos are my favorite but they are cost preventative and a good tune is expensive and finding a good tuner is even harder to find. With a supercharger he can keep a moderate amount of power with no work to the internals then if he wants some stupid amount of power he can go short block, port the heads, fuel system and more pulley.

If it were me, I'd throw a cam in it, port the heads and stuff 150 worth of gas down it's hole and watch it go.

Mike I should be free. LS1tech is the best bored for LS anything. P.S. Brad trapped 138 in his Z06 with exhaust and gas. ;-)

    gotta say i agree..

the cost of serious forced induction level horse power on a potential daily driver's reliability is not a price i'd want to pay..

i mean after all, you've got a bike for when you want the kind of blinding speed you can almost never get out of a street driven car..

rather than building up the car to a level where it is a grenade with a slow fuse, leave it stock, enjoy it for what it is and get your real speed fix on the bike.

(just my humble opinion. you'll do as you see fit)

With the money you're considering for HP adders, why not throw some rims, suspension, brakes and a mild tune on it instead?

700 horse ain't gonna do much if it can't be slowed or turned.

The stock rims are light enough, the z06's have the z51 performance package which includes metal end linked suspension and upgraded larger stabilizing bars. They handle incredibly. I plan to upgrade the rotors in addition to the HP mods, but the Z06's handle and stop incredibly well. I plan on just tuning to 500ish for the hp, 700 would be to much of a hassle drivibilty wise.

    Mike,
I happened to be going by this morning so I stopped in before the opened. It looks great, from what I could see! They have it put away in the garage. Sorry for the crappy picture, but it was taken with my phone through an old pane of glass. They seem to sell higher level models like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lincoln, Range Rover, Corvettes, etc. They have a lot of vehicles in their lot and have a wholesale car business as well.
