broken nose

how do you know if you have a broken nose? i was hit in the face by a racquet during racquetball. it didn't make any crunch noise or anything, but it feels flatter than before... but that might be because i don't touch the bridge of my nose very often. when i look at the profile, it looks like theres a bump or something, but that could just be the swelling from the cut. it didn't bleed out my noise, but a lot of mucus came out and the cut was bleeding pretty bad. it doesn't feel like a bag of doritoes or anything like that. right now i'm just treating the cut with neosporin, some butterfly bandages and a bandaid. any experience owuld help.

Ever break a bone before?

I've never broken my nose, but I've had my fair share of fractures (fingers, both wrists... left one twice)... and I'm gonna say if it were broken, you'd probably know it.

Even if it IS broken, what are you gonna do about it? Looks like ya already got it in a splint

i've broken my fibula during football in highschool, and i could still run on it, it just throbbed. but i don't recall a crunch or snap like everyon else does. i just don't know if the pain on my nose is from the deep laceration or from broken bones

Probably just the cut.

I got hit in the face w/ a hockey stick back in Jr. High... 7 stitches UP my left nostril.

I guess it coulda been fractured but they didn't bother taking x-rays cuz my nose wasn't sideways.

ive broken mine twice, easy way to tell, is it crooked hahah, and when i broke mine i could wiggle it back and forth and hear some crunching goin on as well

3rd time I broke mine I needed surgery cuz I had like 30% breathing through nose. Get it checked out hope u don't need that.

I broke my nose once in 2 out of 3 places. No big deal. No splint, just time to heal.
If you break the 3rd bone they say you have a deviated septum. My spelling may be off, but that one can cause problems and crookedness.

I broke mine 3 times. The wiggle back and forth is usually a good indicator. You might just have a hairline fracture if it's not moving around too much. It's easier to tell if it's broken once the swelling goes down.

I had 2 mean motherfuckers for brothers and about 4 broken noses....if it's broke, you'll know it. In other words, you wouldn't be asking NESR if it's broke, they'll be no doubt....plus your eyes should blacken a bit.

Broke mine a few times, The wiggle back and forth "crunch" is a good indication for most of them.

If it looks cooked in the mirror, more than likely it is broke also..

Only when you can't breath through it will they actually "Do something" for it.

Mine's been broken a few times during tae kwon do when I was younger. It's crooked now - but never had black eyes from it.
