I'm OK with it. Yes it's a big loss, but about three years ago we lost our #1 quarterback to a huge hit that caused internal bleeding. Remember that?
Bruschi did what's best for himself and his family, and I don't blame him. If he retired now he'd still be a New England legend. I'd rather see him sit out than have another Reggie Lewis.
I heard that he's not playing this year. But is he still going to be involved with the Pats?? I think that his presence on the sideline and at practices could still be a big asset to the team. I doubt he'll ever play again, he's too much of a family man.

As long as he is a part of the team he will always contribute a positive influence! He will still be a HUGE impact with the team on the sidelines and most likely involved in training and developing a strong deffence. I can live with him missing a year or more, as long as he is able to return eventually I will be happy. I am positive Bruschi more than anyone else wants himself to be on the field in the game. He is diong the right thing and letting his body recover.
Heal well, heal fast Bruschi ! We will miss watching you in the game, but very much looking forward to your return!

Me too..But I have my doubts that he will ever return. He had a stroke...It would be a huge risk for him to keep taking hits..But I will miss seeing him in the games..Now maybe if I'm lucky I will see him in the locker room...Originally posted by Jenn B

Coach Bruschi has a very nice ring to it.
I can't believe he would even consider playing again. They should outright offer him a coaching position and encourage him to stay off the field.
If you read what the doctors have been saying we are going to see more of this in the future since the players are getting so freakishly heavy. Apparently the coaches just tell the doctors to go fuck off cause heavy brings in the $$ and wins in the current game. Hopefully we don't have to watch a player drop dead on the field.
Well, its good to hear he might come back at some point. I figured he would retire completely as of last spring, but its good to know he feels as though he'll physically be able to play again, hes a huge part of the team.
I wasn't at all surprised by the news. Kinda figured it when all this went down...
He'll end up a linebacking coach somewhere in the near future, mark my words. He essentially reinvented that position. So much to the point that upcoming linebackers are modeling their style of play on him...
No matter what he does after this, I'm sure he'll be wunna the best at it...
