I'm looking to buy four matching 185/65r14 economy tires for a 2001 corolla.
where do you guys go to buy tires to get them at the lowest price, and where do you get them mounted and balanced properly?
ideally for the tires, I'm only looking for longevity and cost. I could give a shit if more expensive tires handle a lot better...it's just a corolla!
- fleabay has: $224 shipped for 4 "negotiator" all-season tires
- tirerack has a $40 MIR for select dunlop or goodyear tires, but the total is still $296 shipped and $372 shipped
- tires-easy.com has: $202.26 shipped for 4 Accelera Epsilon tires
the last time I got four tires mounted and balanced, it was at sears for $79, so that's the price to beat

You could ask tricky mike if he can do car tires on his machine. I'm not sure how far from worcester he is. There is also Bostonmoto....

We don't have a dynamic balancer.
I go to tirerack.com and tirebuyer.com I compare the prices and print it...then I bring it into tire warehouse for a price match.
I've had great luck at the Town Fair Tire on Route 9 in Shrewsbury. Taken a number of vehicles there and never had a problem. nice people and they'll price match (you need on include shipping charges from places like tirerack). you also get the benefit of free rotations, flat repair, etc
If you can't Race it or take it to bed, it's not worth having..
Wally world is usually pretty cheap.
I always had good luck with vulcantire.com
I've bought all my tires at tire warehouse over the years and the say they'll beat any price.
Town Fair Tire was cheapest
China tires
Lastly look up used tires if want cheap
Some research and you could score then from a bone yard ready to go
I've had repeated good experience with Town Fair. In Manchester NH. They may suck elsewhere...no way of knowing!

Last set of tires I got from TFT had bad plys on two of them from day one. They made me get two alignments (front wheel and then 4 wheel on my truck, which is not at all necessary since it is a solid pinned rear axle) before they would replace them. I still had to pay for the alignments after them admitting it was the tires. Oh, btw, printouts confirmed both times my truck was aligned properly.
Fuck those guys.
I go to Tire Warehouse then have an independant shop do my alignments.

I've gotten screwed at tire rack and at tire warehouse. never again.
Town Fair is the best bet. Cheap skins with a free front end alignment.
