Has anyone ever bought items through them? I'm SERIOUSLY thinking of setting up something through them for NESR schwag. I'm mostly concerned about the PRINTING quality on the shirts & sweatshirts for now...
I'd like to use 'em mostly 'cuz we can get a wider variety of products through them, and folk can order directly from them...
Any thoughts/ideas/input? If it's the way to go, I'll set up a bunch of shit through them this weekend. Meaning NESR schwag will be available el soono!

Yes, I have. The quality seems good although I have not put it through too many wash cycles yet
Keep in mind...that your shirts will be available to anyone on the net and not just to NESR members.
i bought a bunch of stickers a month ago.
i didn't get the stickers.
i found the money for the stickers refunded on my credit card... but the shipping charges were not... they never said anything to me... we are now in battle!
Nikon... i am gonna need that sword buddy!

Everything I've seen from them is very poor quality.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
what he said. cafe would rock if they had high quality stuff.Originally posted by hessogood

i don't think that you would like cafe press Jay. The image on the right front breast isn't bad but the back it limited to a fairly small image across the shoulders. i have a cafe press shirt if you want me to take some pics of it so you can see what I'm talking about.

The quality issue could very well be people not sending 'em high enough quality images to use. This is a very common (and very frustrating) problem to print service providers...
I'm getting very mixed feedback on them at this point...
BTW-SRNE's been using 'em. I think it's okay to say that!![]()

The SRNE shirt I bought years ago is still in great shape! If it came from them, then I say they are good quality.Originally posted by Stoneman

I've bought a few things. Mainly t-shirts and polos. They're ok. It's good because you can get one of something and not pay a setup fee. But in the long run, you can do better locally. The quality will be better, and it shouldn't be hard to beat cafepress's prices, which I find to be a bit on the high side.

-I've spoken to some people outside the NESR arena (can you believe it?), and I'm still getting mixed reviews on the PRINTING quality more than anything. Again though, that COULD *EASILY* be people not sending 'em high enough quality files. This is a HUGE problem within the print service provider community. I know this all too well, first hand. A lot of people honestly THINK they understand what's needed when in all reality they're a little off. Sending them an extremely high quality file isn't an issue with me...
-To start I'd only be doing gray shirts (long & short sleeve), baby doll shirts, and sweatshirts (maybe someday I'll find an ebroiderer to do some hats)...
-I appreciate all the offers I've been getting from people offering to look into screen printers for me. That's not really the issue here. Being in the printing biz, I've got plenty of avenues to use for that. But I DO sincerely appreciate the offers...
-By having so many varied orders (different styles, different sizes, etc.) it's gonna cost a bundle up front no matter who's screen printer I use. I like Cafe Press simply due to the fact that we can offer something for just about everyone and I won't hafta have 50-100 of everything printed up, paid for, and stocked at my house. I just don't have that kinda money. For now, it'll keep the cost down for all of us by using them...
-I also have a tough time getting all the schwag orders out in a timely manner now. Some of us have very busy lives, myself included. This will also insure timely shipping & delivery...
-Due to the fact that so many have axed about kids stuff, I think we should keep Nikon's pic off 'em for now. I'm not so sure I want my little Tovah walking around with Will's mug strewn across her shirt. Come to think of it, she may end up too scared to even wear it!
-Maybe I'll set up a store and just have something shipped to me right off the bat. If they're not what I think they should be, I'll just shut 'er down...
Thanks again for all your input!

I got some golf shirts done from them awhile back and they were total crap. The screenprinting was, erm, pixellated? Not sure if that's the best way to describe it, but it wasn't solid coloring on the lettering - really blotchy and not very good all around.Originally posted by Stoneman

The shirts were the most expensive they had ($12 or something apiece) and they were still shitty 50/50's that shrunk about 12 sizes after a wash or two. This was about 2 years ago though, and I don't know if it's gotten better since then.
If you do find a good place online, I'm looking to get some done for sevenstring.org as well and haven't had much luck finding any that don't cost an arm and a leg.
Pixellated is the perfect way to describe it. But that's also an indication that you didn't send them the file correctly too...Originally posted by CQ7String

Hey Jay,
I was using Cafe Press for the short stint I was running Off Ramp Racing... I have everything from t-shirts to beer mugs, clocks etc from them...
The printing on the shirts I got was like a high quality iron on type... it wasn't screen printing... I've had some shirts for a few years now and they faded a bit but still don't look too bad...
The coffee mugs came out nice... although I noticed that after a year or so in the dishwasher the ink is running a little... go figure...
The frosted beer mug is cool... which I don't think they sell anymore... that has held up the best out of everything I bought...
I agree about the hats... I didn't get one but I believe my sister did and it was crap... cheap $2 walmart type...
The clock was a basic cardboard backing with plastic ring and a cheap clock mechanism... honestly it looks fine up on the wall and has been working for a few years now... but isn't anything great...
The stickers are kind of thin material... but do the job...
Overall for someone looking to have some fun and buy here and there like I was it worked well... and the ease of it for me made the few negatives worth it...
Good luck!
Mike
