    Capital One 360

Online Banking? Who is using it? PRO/CONS?

I am thinking of starting a small savings account with them, but i want to hear some feedback first.

    Re: Capital One 360

I've been using it since it was ING Direct.

    Pro:
The savings account is offering 75 bps. For someone that's in finance, but doesn't care too much about chasing rate, 75 bps is good for me.
Never had any issues transferring money in and out (though it does take 2 days to transfer... but so do most savings accounts)
    Easy to use

    Con:
I don't have one. Not to say they're the pinnacle of saving but in the 10 years I've used them... no issues.

No comment on the savings account, but when I had an identity fraud issue going on, capital one was a nightmare, and in the end I felt that they themselves were in on the fraud.

    I use https://www.synchronybank.com/bankin...ving/index.htm

Better interest rate and have had no problems with them.

    Same, agreed
Been auto transferring $100 twice a month for something like 7 years now. Built up quite a pile now. Only transferred out once, painless and took less than a couple days to clear.

Same.. Think I've had the account since '07 with auto weekly transfers in. Have done numerous small and large transfers back out without any issues.

I stopped using mine just because my traditional savings accounts were working fine.

Sav, what are you looking to do with this account? Just have another one out there to dump some money in on a regular basis?

    Re: Capital One 360

Why not just use a savings account wherever you currently do checking?

If you are looking for a return, then Bubs' recommendation is the way to go.

my 360 is at .75%, but I have it more for the unattended automatic deposit/growth. never see or touch the money going in and barely even check it 4 or 5 times a year

Not so great rates at my local bank and not many programs were you can add little money often.

like Sav said, more of a larger commitment. normally $500+ to open one. and then locked for the term. I have plenty of them also, but do those when I have an extra $2500-$3500 to lock up. my local bank has a 33 month 1.85% (1.6% + .25% with other account balances). will probably lock up some cash on that before the end of the year.

    Re: Capital One 360

Have it. Use it. It's linked to my capitaloneinvesting.com account.

It's fine for my casual uses. I'm also at .75% which is good compared to other places with the same liquidity.

They require direct deposit and a certain amount of debit card transactions per month in order to get that rate.
