    V1 Detector

Hey anybody here have the Valentine Detector??

I just bought one recently and I had to buy the audio component as well. I hooked it all up but I'm getting no sound in my earpieces. Everything seems to be hooked up right, power to the audio then out to the detector. But nothing in the earphones. Do I need a special earpiece or something?? I just bought a couple different ones, 1 single speaker and 1 double speaker (earpiece).

    Re: V1 Detector

the audio adaptor (if they still make them the same) has 2 output jacks, one in front the other in back, the one in front takes a 1/8" jack and the one on the back takes a 3/32" jack. front is for earphone impedence and the rear is for speaker impedence

    Re: V1 Detector

    Hey Randy.
Do you know if it matters what kind of earphones you use and the length of the cables??
I have an extention going from under the rear seat (where the audio box is) to under the tank so I can plug in, so I'm wondering if theres just not enough juice making it to the plugs.
Appreciate your help even if you can't!!

Oh and yeah it's still the same

    Re: V1 Detector

do you have the volume turned up?

volume on the V-1 only controls the volume of the internal V-1 speaker, volume control for earphones or external speaker are the controls on the audio adaptor

    Re: V1 Detector

Yeah, I've got both turned up, turned down, turned sideways! I'm having no luck at all. The button isn't even changing the modes on the detector so I'm assuming it's faulty at this point. IDK, I'm gonna check the website again, see if there are any answers there, if not I'll give them a call Tuesday I guess.
    Thank's for your help though!!!

    Re: V1 Detector

I had this problem before and it was the 3.5 plug was not all the way in.

Other thing it could be is like Randy said - wrong jack/wrong hole, Equals there would be no power to the detector also.
So that leaves the volume/on-off control knob in the off position possibly being the the cause which would leave power to the Detector, but shuts off you audio control to you headphones.

Or you just got a fridays model which is fucked!

I just ordered the LED helmet notification from Legal speeding and need to contact them because it has not arrived yet......

I used to use the audio set up on my last RC51, but I dont like having multiple wires and multiple audio into one soarce. Too many wires, and my music gets interupted by the squacking of the Radar...
