What's the best way to heal up quickly from deep tissue bruising?
I got a boo-boo on my left quad last Saturday and every time I move my leg.... I mean every time, even rolling over in the middle of the night, it aches as if I just finished doing squats on one leg w/ 800lbs on my shoulders.
I've got a compression bandage on it now & have been trying to stretch & massage it. Don't have ice or pain killers here at work w/ me.... I don't usually bitch about this kinda shit, but this is getting rediculous.

Ok I got ya cover'd here Oreo.... Step one Stop Crying... Step two walk it off..![]()
But really, I think the only thing that will help is time...
Punch it, repeatedly. Or hit it with a hammer.
Boy you really got jacked with that pile drive...you might want to get it checked you might have torn a muscle. If thats the case it could be awhile before that thing heals. The more you walk on it the longer it can take. Theres alway Vicadin.![]()

You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
Go to the doctor... that's not supposed to hurt a week later... unless you did squats all week or something...
Or just be tough.. worst that could happen is you're a gimp years down the road like so many "tough guys".
If it doesn't hurt when you walk on it then I wouldn't sweat it too much. After I highsided coming out of 2 in Sept., I had a nasty bruise from above my right hip all the way down to my knee. It hurt like a bitch when I sat or laid down, but it was ok when I walked. I was even able to ride the bike (in pain) to a third in the last race of the day on Saturday, but after sleeping all night it stiffened up so much that I couldn't even swing my leg over the seat to go out on Sunday. It took three weeksbefore I was back to walking without some serious pain.

This is the main reason I'm looking for some protective shorts.. that have QUAD protection.
I had a super minor getoff on my dirt bike last year (turned around to make sure Renee was OK, got cross rutted... on the ground instantly!)
Anyway, when the bike cross rutted, the bars snapped to full lock, and as I went over them, my quad caught the bar end.
Barely going 20mph, was back up in 5 seconds... yet my quad KILLED for over a week!
Stupid shit like that is why I say the more gear the better. It's not that I couldn't deal with the pain... but when a relatively cheap piece of gear could have prevented it... why not?
i have deep tissue damage on my left quad as well from november (see bruise on myspace). It's still not healed and i have a nice indentation there. I had pain while walking as well, and just dealt with it (hate taking painkillers). keep massaging it, heating pad, anything to restore blood circulation to that area, but dont compress it too hard. it's best if you can get someone else to massage it for you while you elevate it on a pillow so you can completely relax the muscle.
Well behaved women rarely make history.

As Chic said. Heating pad, light massage. Increases blood flow and speeds healing.
FYI Ice in the first 24-48 hours decrease blood flow and swelling to the area, after 48 hours your not doing any good with Ice because it has stopped swelling.
Sounds like a bone bruise
800mg Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours (with food)

I have a subdural haematoma about where my left kidney is from a motorcycle crash in North Carolina 5 years ago. They said at the time it could take 10 years to go away. It's a hardening of the flesh and a numbness of the skin. it is a little painful sometimes and has been swollen since the accident. That's what I understand as deep tissue damage. YMMV
derek
Yeah Degs, the muscle tissues is still a little hard but it's softening up. The skin had a couple of spots that were there was a little loss of feeling but not 100%. I'm sure you got it worse than I did.
doin better.... been putting the heating pad on it once a day & rubbin it down alot. Still throbs pretty bad if i sit still for a while then move it in any way... there's a couple second delay until it starts throbbing, then it goes away after another 10-15 seconds. Once that passes I can pretty much walk w/o a limp.
and btw everyone, i've washed the sand out of my vagina so my vagina doesn't hurt anymore, only my leg![]()
