Ok, now tell me more. Is it like a Kazza thing?
2018 Harley Road Glide
2000 Ducati 900ss
well from what I know of kazaa no - kazaa is just a p2p file sharing program right? like winmx
this download mgr allows you to invoke it every time you 'save as' an object that is downloadable - ie movies etc
whats nice is that lets say you want to download a file that is 500MB - when you right click on the object to 'save as' this download mgr pops up and takes care of the download for you
nifty feature is that it will start downloading that 'one' file you just did a 'save as' and will break that one 500MB file into as many threads as it can to concurrently download it - this will work is the site your downloading from is trying to limit bandwidth etc
it will of course also allow you to stop downloading and pickup from where you left off - also good if your download gets interupted or something

There is another program that I use called Getright that does the same thing. Watch it though, a lot of them have Spyware built into them.

Yeah typically they use the codeword though "FREE".Originally posted by TheIglu

multi-threading is cool, but how many videos you need to download![]()
Occasionally the time comes when someone sends you a link that says cool videos whatever and theres not just one. Unfortunately...if you download and watch one...and you like it...the need arises to go for more - right ? There like potato chips right? You can't just have one.Originally posted by somestrangeguy

How ya gonna download more than a few with the least effort ?
I'll use the download mgr. I already scanned w/adaware after installing the 'free' dl mgr and it didn't pickup any spyware. That doesn't mean adaware catches everything but gives me a better feeling about running 'free' software. And I'm not getting any pop ups so....seems to be decent to me.
So oocasionally the need DOES arise to download more than a few at a time. And generally I don't waste my time...but with this app it is painless and hassle free.

Just be careful its not smarting your user stuff out to somewhere...no popups and free usually mean something. Then again I'm just leary[i]

It could be a good piece of software and I'm just nuts. Have you tried Firefox yet? It does support multi threading and has a little download window sort of like that (waay simpler) but handy for such events.
I only get emails for viagara and mortgages, thus my confusion.
But thanks for the links, now I may have to get
D. all of the above
and peruse freely, Thanks!![]()
yep I agree - I'm leary too...thats why I run (2) systems ....and the download mgr has only made it to my 'less sensitive' machine
I suspect DCLK will own ALL of our information sooner than later and theres nothing we can do to thwart such world wide domination of tracking info.
Thanks for the heads up on firefox...and although I am running it I haven't run across that feature you mentioned. But I have noticed FF does not display certain www pages accurately so I was sort of unimpressed with it ...until more bugs are addressed
