    Re: 143 MPH with a passenger...Really?

I was driving with the family to VT yesterday when this guy passed us. I saw him coming and an SUV was passing me at the same time - he was going to go in between us. So, I veered off road and while I was going around 72mph he passed in between us flying by around 90-100 I would imagine. A police car followed within 3 minutes. After about a mile or two the accident occurred and the road was blocked. He and his girlfriend were wearing only helmets and no other gear. I am surprised they even survived the accident. After 30 minutes of waiting they reopend I-93. People like this give the rest of us a bad image...

He didn't crash going 143 and I doubt that he was clocked going that fast it's a bunch of bullshit. I saw the bike while it was on it's side and the front end looked fine.

He could have been doing 143 when he was clocked on radar, though nowhere near that when he crashed. I (and most others here) have seen many bikes crash at the track at high speeds. Unless the bike hits a stationary object, they often look like the one you see lying on the road in that photo. Lots of scraping damage on one side, otherwise not bad.

I'd be curious to see just how much road rash the suspect has from that. Bet it's pretty bad.

I don`t see a lot of damage to the car they hit mostly a dent in the trunk and a tailight on the right side. Maybe they just clipped the car and then slid . ouch ! Either way they are lucky to be alive!

What a piece of shit. Riding like that, drunk, with a passenger? Guy deserves jail time and i hope his passenger sues his ass.

I'm pretty reckless at times but NEVER with a passenger. If i'm going to pay the piper i'm not taking my girlfriend with me

Sad to say ive done this minus the booze, my wife is a licensed competent rider herself. She knows the risk and reward. She understands body position, and is probably the most neutral pillion ive ever had. That said she's smart enough to never get on a bike front or back after coctails.......just sayin'
