I don't know, looks like the guy can handle a hefty bike pretty well. Good to see he was wearing proper gear to be riding like that as well.

    Re: Dude on a Chopper

A Dyna built with nice suspension can actually handle fairly well. I took a buddy's for a rip that was done up with Progressive rear shocks, rebuilt front forks, nice Brembo's, and it was an absolute blast to ride. Once you get used to the weight you can throw the thing around like any other naked standard. Fun as hell

There was an ex AMA guy racing a 1200 Sportster at LRRS 3ish years ago. Bike was UL legal (I think) and the guy rode the heck out of the thing. He was fast enough that John Linn had to pay attention .

Yeah, but there is an actual sporster racing class. THose bikes have been heavily modded and sorted for roadracing. This guy has adapted to the bike, not the other way around.

    Re: Dude on a Chopper

Anyone who says Harleys can't handle pretty damn well in street corners either hasn't ridden one or doesn't ride very well. I didn't expect the handling to be that good and was extremely surprised when I started riding my Road King. The main limiting factor is ground clearance, but even that can be addressed with bike setup and hanging off (LOL)

Even though the guy in this video is an idiot riding like that where he is and how he's dressed, it's still proof of the above. Looks like he could use some better tires, too.

I have a 2015R Road King with Traxxion dynamics suspension. AK-20's in the front and Bitibo's shocks in the rear. It handles just fine for a 850 lbs bike.
It's alot of fun to ride.

Some Harleys can handle, some can't.
Ride a stock V-Rod and tell me they can handle. Or worse a softail. Honestly, fuck those things.

That bike barely had any Harley left in it, they build the crap out of that thing. Way bigger than 1200cc, evil motor, tricked out suspension and frame, BST wheels... Absolute animal to muscle around. Miss him, he and his crew were good people and a blast to have around it the garage.

What was even more fun was watching him on his regular street sportster running Pirelli Sport Demons and STILL ripping it up out there.

Guys run those canyons every single day and twice on the weekends. Lost a close friend who held a top ten racing # in those hills. I could never get into the scene, felt too much like a deathwish.

This video made the rounds earlier this month, but hosted on a Facebook video and I think it was cropped. IIRC, the guy riding is a well known local who runs it regularly. Pretty sure there's some video of him by the guy who shoots all the snake videos, rnickeymouse or something like that.

I saw it on Facebook and put it on YouTube. Couldn't find the sauce, and sort of hate Facebook these days.

This is a public road open to commuters then I'm assuming.

If "Pretty damned well" equals 10 seconds a lap. They're faster than Zeros though!

That guy won't last long riding like that.

Just a spot gravel means it's all over.

THat's the thing with canyon carving. THere's almost no margin for error. 3 people were killed within a few weeks of my trip to the dragon. I can see why.

Agreed on all counts with the comments of shouldn't be doing it on the street but I did notice that their lane usage was correct. Don't recall seeing them cross the double yellow to get a better angle on any of the turns. Still crazy though.
