Just finished off a bottle of Balvenie Portwood Aged 21 Years. Oh my. So good. Love a great single malt.
Looks like its gone up a lot in price since last year. I remember paying 100 but its worth the extra money.

I'm a Balvanie fan as well. My father just gave me a bottle of 12 year Doublewood and my brother a bottle of Cask Strength. He brought them back from the distillery last year and I've got to say either one would be worth paying that much for.

I enjoy Balvenie as well. Right now I have a 12yr double wood as that is all the liquor store had. I've had the 18 and 21 year, and the 21 year is wonderful. If you grabbed a bottle for $100, you got a great deal. My wife bought be a 25yr MacAllen last year for Christmas, not nearly as good as the 21yr Balvenie, but I prefer the wood taste of the Balvenie. Others may like the smoothness of the MacAllen better.
Chalk me up as another huge fan of the Balvenie 21-year-old. My dad's got a bottle in his liquor cabinet, but he's not a scotch drinker so I'm the only one who ever touches it. And I do whenever I visit.
I've got a bottle of the 17-year-old RumCask at home, and that's really good as well.
By the way, it looks like that place you linked has a super-high price. This is more like it:

i can't say that I've tried Balvenie before, i'll have to add that to the list.
I'm the only scotch drinker in my family as well. I bought myself a bottle of 12 year Macallan for our family christmas party this year. I'm also a fan of Macallan 15, and of Glenlivet.
Maybe the VTBN crew should have a scotch-tasting event sometime...

The best advice I’ve ever been given is to not forget where you came from.
Single malts!
A brother in law of mine is from Ireland. I saw him Christmas eve...and we got on the subject of Irish Whiskey-of course-and Scotch. He suggested that since we both like single malts, and he had a favorite, I should try this one:

I'm going to look into it.
