Thanks!

Are you looking for scraps, like pallets, or real firewood because there are tons of free pallets on CL.

I don't know a lot about them, but I suspect pallets are just ratty old pine that hasn't been treated. Someone who has some to give away can probably tell you. If that doesn't work PM me if Milton isn't too far to go. I have firewood that I usually sell every Fall.
should look to see if anyone is getting rid of any pine on CL for free...can't really sell that for anything other than campfire wood...i'm assuming there are a ton of pine trees that came down over the winter due to their root systems...or like was said above pallets...they usually get rid of them at stores and sometimes they are oak and sometimes they are pine...i have burned a lot of pallets in my pit just fine...bust them up with a sledge hammer/axe and toss them in...i have some cut and split oak that i'm going to put up for sale soon but i'm a good 75 miles from you
green pine may not burn, but it sure will smoke!!![]()
also look for old cedar fencing...most of the pine you will find won't be split cause it's not worth the time so you would want the smaller diameter stuff...get the fire nice and hot and place your "on deck" wood around the pit to dry out before you kick them in...drier lint starts fires well with good kindling

pallets are generally junk hardwood, seldom pine, imported pallets are supposed to be irradiated, but some slip thru the cracks, The Emerald Ash Borer came in on a pallet from China to Michigan in 2002. Now, it's almost everywhere ash trees are and soon, ash in our forest will be gone, like the American Chestnut a century ago

I have some pine and spruce you can have, but I’m in RI. I normally burn it myself for heat, but I simply have to much of it after the gypsy moths killed most of them on my property.

I have an endless supply of pallets at my shop in East Providence, they make for great camp fires. You’re welcome to come grab as many as you’d like.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
You're welcome to come pick through all my stuff in Palmer. I have around 7 acres of woods, some of which was cut down about a year ago with a good bit of decent fire wood still laying around. You can even bring a chain saw and cut some from a few recently fallen trees if you want.
Is that a serious question? Forensic entomology is a pretty extensive field, though they tend to stick more to criminal matters. I suspect they found that through simple science detective work.

Free pallets. You can--well, I can, anyway--break them down with a regular claw hammer in just a minute or two. They burn hot and fast.

First you screw, then you bolt.
is 1hr north of Worcester too far to travel for wood? I’ve got exactly what you need. And Noel it’s fire wood to burn. We could about fill up your trailer.

it was discovered in 2002 before they spread. entomologists have since been following the movement with the purple traps you occasionally see hanging from trees.
fwiw, once it discovered in a county, that county is quarantined, you can import firewood from a non quarantined county, but yer in deep dudu if ya get caught exporting firewood from a quarantined county
it's how these invasive pests spread, people bringing firewood from home to camp

Aren't there firewood quarantines in effect? I don’t think it's legal to bring firewood across state lines in New England. Specifically because of the Elm Borer. Jus' sayin'.
