I won't say what company as of now but will post in the dealer review section if I feel like it later. I bought some rearsets off an ebay store which is an online store aswell and I think a real store or a parts department at a dealer. They sent me 2 left side rearsets. I called them to let them know the problem and they said to ship the other one back to them before they can send me out the right side rearset. I asked if they will cover the shipping cost. He said no because I already got free shipping on it and it was a "best offer" auction so he claims they didn't make any money off of it.(bull shit) What kind of an excuse is that? I pay for their F*&k up? I'm still waiting for the right item to arrive but so far would you put a negative on their part? I know I could agrue this to a manager and would most likely get my way but I'd rather hit em with a negative feedback on ebay instead. Is this how it works, customer pays for a return when its not their fault?

Dunno if you've seen my whole long ass eBay debacle, but I'm not leaving any feedback until the transaction is FINISHED and COMPLETE so that I can give accurate feedback.

Personally, I would have suggested sending him back both of his left side rearsets and buying some elsewhere.
Alternatively, you could suggest that you split the shipping in exchange for positive feedback.

The point is that you got a good deal... ON A COMPLETE SET. They fucked up and don't want to fix it at their cost because you got a good deal with a best offer? That's bullshit.
I would be a little more forceful, and if they won't budge, buy the rearsets elsewhere and stick them with negative feedback.
Realize that they will give you negative feedback too afterwards though, so if you have low feedback, this could hurt you. Them buckling and sending you the correct set at their cost would be the best case, try being a little more of an asshole.

hammer them, especially if they have a good rating. its the only way to teach pricks a lesson.
No it won't. This usually doesn't effect them on a personal level.
I deal with angry ebay people all the time. I have one guy right now screaming at me because his tire wasn't delivered within three days. Mass to TX is not three days by UPS. I now just get angry letters all in caps. And he'll leave negative. I leave positive when I process the order. I try not to use ebay as a tit-for-tat forum.
As for the rear sets, go over his head. You order a set. You received two of the same side. You didn't not get what you ordered so they should fix it. If Amazon sent him the wrong CD, would he pay to ship it back? Doubt it.
Ask to talk to the owner. I want to cancel the order. I did not get what I want. Issue a UPS Call Tag. Please credit my account. If you use Pay Pal, you can file a claim through them. They will hold their payment until this is successfully resolved. Same if you paid with plastic. THIS will motivate them.
Their profit / loss of this auction has ZERO impact on the state of this order.
Putting his hands in the air, like he just doesn't care.

It seems like you are looking for a reason to be upset. The guy said to ship the item back and they'll fix it. Correct? If you bought the thing at the store and had to return it would you expect him to pay for gas and wear and tear on the car?
thats horrible business practice. So he has to give you a $6 paypal refund, big deal. That simple act would keep you as a future customer, not to mention the word of mouth and anyone you might suggest buy from them. Good luck.
These guys have great customer service, never had a problem, and stock vortex under MSRP.
Nope, its the principle of the matter. When you buy something in which shipping has something to do with the total cost of the item, I don't want to pay more than what was agreed apon. If you reread my 1st post, they are not fixing the problem in a professional manner, more like a scumbag. Buying from a store, I'd have returned it before I left the parking lot.

Sellers SHOULD give feedback after they process the item you have ALREADY piad for. Your part of the deal is over.
I HATE when sellers wait until the buyer leaves feedback before they will.
At least they did that right. I think that speaks highly of them right there, maybe you can work it out before leaving negative.

i work for an ebay/internet sales based company. the policy that ebay and paypal prefer is to work it out on your own. you should send the company pictures of what you received (both in the same photo) for proof. they should then send you the missing side and then you return the double. You leaving them negative feedback will most likely not to anything, and more likely, you will not receive the correct part. If you get ebay and paypal involved with the emails and situation that you and this company have, they will be on your side. You can file a complaint against them through paypal and you will most likely get your money back or they will put pressure on the company to get you the correct parts. If they refuse to respond to ebay and paypal, their accounts can either be put on hold or you will receive a refund in full for your payment automatically from paypal. Granted, this process takes the better part of a month just because of the volume of sales that ebay and paypal deal with...

Jay,
If you know more about the seller than he thinks, use it to go over his head and contact the store or parts department directly.
I almost got screwed on a pair of used powder skis from e-bay (2 weeks late, couldn't find them, wanted to send a different pair, different length, yadda yadda yadda). Luckily for me the e-mail address gave away what company the seller worked for. I sent an e-mail to the company and left a voice-mail on their machine stating my frustration. I received a nice note from the seller with an apology stating brand new skis were shipped.
Your results may vary ...
Well they refunded me with no question so I'll give them a good rating. I think is was just some wanker I spoke to at first.![]()
