not offended at all. i thinks its funny. I'm not one that likes to perpetuate the stereotype so I park behind DD when I get a coffee.

also, I don't get given anything. I'm no better than the average joe and see no reason why I should be entitled free stuff from a store. Occasionally, store owners will give us a small discount, but its for all uniformed personell (military, fire, ems and police). I never ask for the discount though and i've had to tell people that i won't take what they are trying to give me for free.

thats the way most things happen for law enforcement here in VT. most if not all the cops I know here are the same as me about this stuff. other states I know it is way different. not saying I am any better and that they are worse, the culture is just different.

Thats horseshit, we went as the village people to a halloween in June party, and I got stuck as the policeman. After the party we went to this wonderful bar called the Blue Oyster. Man, not only did I get let in free, the guys in there were so appreciative of my community service I didnt have to buy a drink all night.

Air Force is SUPPOSED to be similiar. I believe the reg. says something about "short, convenient stops", NOT, repeat NOT "doing your monthly shopping at the grocery store or walmart" which i see all too often and it kinda pisses me off.
