I made the mistake of playing the game last night after almost 3 weeks of not touching it. God, I friggen sucked! I had to shut it off because I was screwing up so bad. I will try again tonight.

Mike, when you say seasonal races, are you talking about the Special Events races? I haven't even gone back in there since I kept getting owned on the ralley event, but I didn't notice a GT-R challange. I have the 09 GT-R so maybe I'll have to give it a shot, get some more monies!!!

Yeah, Make sure you're logged in to the PS network, go into seasonal events, I think the GTR race is the last one in "Bonus Race 1"
It's kind of a bitch, though... They start you in last place and the gaps between the cars are large, so you're almost a half a lap behind when you get the green.

There are plenty of other 2, 3, 4. and $600K races in there, some of which are pretty easy. I think you can only cash in once, though....

There was a system update around the 20th when gt academy started. When you go the main gt menu, to the left of the a spec icon there is now seasonal events and an online used car shop which inventory wise hasn't changed yet.
So far there are 2 "sets" of races that are limited to a certain date. Each set has 3 categories: race, drift, time trial. TT, and drift offer no $ but do have online ranks and each one has 2 events. Race has 5 or 6 and pays out big $ but only once unless you improve on a previous finish.

I had just bought the Formula Gran Turismo F1 car to finish the extreme series when I got the YLOD. FML.

If you go into system settings(i think) on the XMB there's a backup utility. You can export all info from there.

So a buddy and I were playing last night. Exact same car, tires, and set-up. My rear tires would be COMPLETELY wasted halfway thru the 3rd lap and his were still at 75% or so. The only difference is that I'm using the stock controller that came with my PS# and he's using a wheel. Could the "all or nothing" approach of slamming the joystick to the sides verses nice smooth wheel inputs have that great an effect on tire life??? I did NOT want to spend money on a wheel right now but I have a lot of trouble being really smooth with the joystick......

If he's got the wheel then he's got pedals too, so throttle input would be more precise. Wish I had room for the wheel/pedal combo.

So I finally really got playing this morning. I'm up to level 10 in a-spec. So far I've figured out,

1.I want a wheel and pedals.
2.B-spec is great to read books, but mainly pointless.
3.I hate this leveling bullshit.
4.I want more money and to able to buy what ever the fuck I want.
5.NASCAR blows.
6.My turbo miata kicks ass.

I had just finished the Formula series and started the Endurance series when I got the YLOD. I fixed it after finding the fix online. It lasted another two weeks before it shit the bed again. There is one more fix I need to try before giving up on it. If I do fix it I'll use it as my BR player.

This is my current setup in the basement:

Picked up the wheel used. The guy who sold me the wheel threw in the table for free. Wife hooked me up with the TV for x-mas.

I was playing around with tire wear in one of the endurance races....its really cool that the wear rates change depending on how you're driving. I was able to get an extra 10+ laps out of my tires by driving really smooth in my Audi R8 race car.

This thing is impossible to drive. It goes like 0-200 in about 8 seconds.

I'm jealous. I'm at level 17 now. No time to play it. My b-spec driver is kicking ass though because he plays while I do home work.

I managed to have my ps3 repaired and get all my game saves back, but I just haven't had the time to get going again with this game.
