    Help me fix my house!

    Ok, resident Askhole here.

I actually don’t need physical help, just ideas and a point in the right direction.

Check out the plastic trim under my porch…

It’s also taller and under the porch in the rear…

You can see on the right side how it sags inward.

    That’s best case scenario!

Any time there is wind, sections blow out.

It’s thin plastic, with weird grooves that hook them together, in two tracks top and bottom, and it’s a BITCH to put back.

I want to just rip it out and replace it with something.

I actually did contact a contractor who does fake rocks on houses and he responded and said he would get me a quote, but I never heard back even upon follow ups on my part.

I think it’s too small a job to hire a contractor.

The only idea I can think of is finding that fake stone siding and cut it down? Use subtle fasteners on the top?

There are exposed concrete feet, so doing lattice or anything see through I think is out of the question.

I guess I could do some sort of wood but I need it strong enough that the wind won’t blow it out like the current decor, but easy enough to cut, since the right side slopes with the driveway and the front isn’t straight either.

    Any ideas?

Would something like this work or work better?

I would do the pt lattice with pt ply as a backer so you can see behind it. I think it would look sharp on your house if you can keep the naturalish color of the pt wood too.

Maybe lattice with some sort of fabric backing so you couldn’t see under the porch and see concrete and dirt.

that is what I have done to the deck on the back of my barn, I hung green tarps. The space underneath 12'x28'x8' has become a man cave, and I can roll the tarps up if I want more air flow or natural light when working in the space

I would do a stone veneer or lattice backed by pt plywood painted black.
