Oh please... soccer isn't even a sport.

I bet the NHL gets better ratings in the US right now, and they're locked out!

Have you seen some of the international matches? Those guys are ruthless.

If there's a top contender for "fake sport" it's gotta be baseball.

hey you watch it! Soccer is a sport!! If a sport for you is only when there is some good fights, some blood and swearing words...well.... Some teams play only for fun, some others play for competition. I want my daughter to do both. I'm thinking far ahead. College. I told her if she's gonna have me pay to play a sport, she better get at it and PLAY and be good. Of course...I want her to have fun also.

I don't know about Springfield, but here...there are two leagues. Spring soccer which is competative, you have to 'make' the team and travel to surrounding towns and Fall soccer which is instructional and everyone gets to play. I would assume that Spring sign up is now or very soon for teams to be ready to start in April, fall signups are just before the end of the school year in June.

I defy anyone who thinks soccer isn't a sport to TRY to play it. Make it easier on yourselves though, try INDOOR soccer first. Much smaller playing field. G'head, try it. It's wunna the most physically demanding sports there is, period...

Soccer was HUGE when I was in highschool. It was THEE fall sport. If ya couldn't make the soccer team, ya went out for football...

The only place on the planet that soccer is failing as a spectator sport is here in the good ol' USA. It draws BY FAR the largest spectator base in the world. Every professional game in just about any other part of the world - every single game - draws a larger crowd than most Super Bowls...

and us soccer hooligans are the real thing , not like the pansies in the NBA that threw a couple of punches and called it a riot, buncha wimps.
I mean just look at Degsy , he has soccer hooligan written all over him, regular terror that one.

ya ok soccer is hard to play i get it . my sister plays highscool and is very good. but its boring as fuck to watch. now if you could clothsline people and check them into the bleachers or something maybe. let some fights breakout without passing out yellow or pink cards or whatever.

soccer is so big world wide becouse they have no other sports for the most part to watch. were we have many.

oh and soccer riots are way cool bunch of drunk idiots taking a sport way to seriously and crushing each other.

but really if you like it fine if you dont fine, i dont think anyone can say it isnt extremly physical to play and i give people credit for that, the stamina you have to have to run the whole time is amazing, but i agree it is so boring to watch.

I think its just like any other sport; if its something you have played and enjoy, you'll like watching it. I can watch a bike race fromt start to finish, but my wife would go insane. But let there be some sort of horse jumping BS on TV....

    I'm a soccer mom...

Most people that take the time to learn a bit about the SPORT usually end up facinated by it. Admittedly, US soccer (MLS) was a joke and a bore. But it was started with legitimate intentions. College soccer, some high school soccer and DEFINITELY World Cup is great watching...

It's an incredibly easy sport to learn about and understand. At the interscholastic level (high school & college), there are only 14 rules and only 3 of those are disciplinary...

I don't understand how people can watch 4 hours of scoreless baseball or 2 hours of scoreless football or hockey (extra innings/overtime) and then piss & moan that soccer's not a high enough scoring sport...

Great job V, for your daughter. It's great to hear that she's adjusted so well to things here...
