    Indian food

I have never felt healthier or more regular than I have since the night I ate an Indian meal. I'm not sure what these people put in their food but holy hell! I can strip paint with my hind side. It tasted so damn good I'm gonna have to go back for more. Lamb curry with medium spice was the introduction of choice. Gonna go full boat next time and get the hot.

    Re: Indian food

I've got a place near me that has the best indian in New England. Not a fancy place, in a little hole in the wall, but everything is home made and done right.

I've tried many places, nobody can come close to the tikka's this guy makes.

    Bombay Tandoor Grill, Fitchburg MA

If you decide to make the trek out, let me know and I'll join you. The owner always makes sure I'm taken care of and knows my taste well.

    Re: Indian food

I love indian food but you have to be careful. They use heavy cream in a lot of their foods which is extremely high in saturated fat. Not good for your cardiovascular system or if you're trying to eat healthy. If you're not watching that stuff, than knock yourself out!!!

When I would go to the gym after eating Indian food I would gross myself out from just the stench of my sweat. The stuff is crazy. Bathroom visits, ummmmmm yeaaaaaa. Let's just leave it at that. There's a couple good places that I've tried:

    Kabab and Tandoor (Waltham, MA)
    Minerva (Natick and Norwood, MA)
    Bollywood Grill (Framingham, MA)

Went to Pongal in Billerica MA once. It was ok but probably wouldn't go back.

I just hate how the curry seeps out of your pores hours after you eat it.

ha, come to my house...it's the daily regimen

imho: I started investigating it a little bit, but then got lazy and just ate what's on the table because my Mom started yelling at me

but what little I did think about, I found that (like anything else) a lot of what makes it healthy or not depends on how it's prepared and what you eat. Eat ten naan's (the bread) all buttered up with the meal, fried appetizers, lots of butter in the "gravy", and too much rice, and you won't fair well with calories. But eat some wheat roti's, take the carbs in moderation, and eat a good variety (= the strength of indian meals) of veggies that's freshly prepared and it will suit you well

Bhavesh - The naan along with what I had was incredible. My lady friend knew of this place in Nashua. I don't remember the name but damn skippy that was some goodness!

Billy - My eating style is "healthy with a twist"...meaning I choose healthy food overall but don't wanna miss out on other tasty things before I die.

Some of you who know me know that I love the Asian food....Japanese, Korean, etc and most of that is fairly spicy. This newfound taste of India has brought and entirely different eating experience.....same heat, different flavor.

I grew up eating that stuff ALL the time.

Now, I appreciate a good burger. Still enjoy the indian food, but it hasn't been a priority.

I'm like that with the American and Italian style foods....burgers, pastas and such. Got hooked on the Asian style when I was sent to Korea a couple times and since then my palate has really become accustomed to that style.....but this new flavor, a completely different preparation of food using much different ingredients, it's like an entirely different world I can now explore.

Clayton - Yes and thank you. I've been known to take a random road trip just for the hell of it so you may find me knocking at your door someday.

I can't for the life of me remember this dish I had. They were like these fried dough like balls sitting in a pool of rosewater?

I'm new to the area so will have to start trying out new places to eat, although I'm more a steak guy, I still like Indian food. Its just that I get a good dose of it at home that I rarely eat outside as far as Indian goes.

I'm fairly partial to a decent Lamb Saag. Hot of course.
