......well , this time it has hit home...yesterday my 16 yr old daughter was doing an errand in the family car (2003 honda accord)...and a moose stumbled out of the woods about a mile from where i live, she swerved to avoid hitting it and went into the soft ditch, over corrected and went across the road, down an embankment and into a tree...the airbags exploded and did their job..she didnt have any injuries to speak of, just a bruise on her lower arm, and some banged legs...im so relieved that shes ok, but also pissed that the new car is trashed...the front end is toast...i hope the adjuster calls it a total....anyone had to deal wirth an auto accident lately?.....by the way....watch out for the friggin moose they are really getting to be a problem up here ..IMO.

OMG! So sorry to hear about this but so happy to hear that your daughter is ok. The car is replaceable. repairable, etc. Thank God your girl is alright. We have the moose problem here too, it makes it hard for any motorist, cage or bike, any age and experience. Its like they are everywhere, well everywhere that the deer arent. Best wishes on getting the cage taken care of

2 years ago, I attended a convention up at the Balsams, I rode my SV up, oddly even after a couple days riding around the area.. even places you are almost garanteed to see a moose like pontook dam in Dummer etc. I saw none, I spoke with a surveyor friend of mine who works for Fish & Game.... he said that it appeard that because of the drought, the moose were staying deeper in woods. now that we are out of drought, I have noticed that I am now beginning to see more moose again.

What would you think if we also had roaming wild buffalo?

...hey...thank u everyone for your kind words...i appreciate your concern...we are now waiting to find out what the insurance adjuster has to report...he hasnt showed up yet....as i mentioned before im hoping that they declare it a "total"....if repaired how does that affect the "warrantee"...it has less than 10 K on it......i really dont want to deal with the repair...after all why should i be paying for new...and have damaged goods...guess ill find out soon enough.

Glad to hear your daughter is okay.. Do not expect the car to be totalled they do not like to total cars if they are new. I flipped my car over on the highway in November and had under 30k for mileage on a 2000 cavalier z24 they fixed it all the damage was on the drivers side from where I landed it cost them 9000.00 to repair it the damage was all drivers side damage. I thought for sure they were gonna total it, but they didnt. Because it was still being paid for they had to get gms approval and everything was replaced with gm parts not aftermarket.
