Funny how you can get your services fixed that have not worked properly in a year...yes a fucking year...after you send a letter to the MA Department of Telecommunications and Cable, Comcast Corporate Offices, the BBB and the Massachusetts Attorney Generals Office.
I don't know if I should be happy that my services work or pissed that this is what it took...![]()
whats not working?

i had comcast cable internet and tv service in my last place for 8 years without complaint. not sure what problems others have had, but often times service issues are really bad installs (bad line termination, grounded center lead via wound up braid, etc)
i know this because i used to work for a company who did contract work for them doing cable modem installs back when at&t still owned the system in my area. i ended up being their troubleshooting tech because i always found the problem, and fixed it. 90% of the time, it was a bad fitting.
you would think that a dead short from center conductor to ground at a fitting would do more than just wreck channels 3-5, but i've seen that exact situation.
but i digress.

A whole thread on it.

I am at wits end w/ Comcast. I've had some real issues for the past month or so and they refuse to acknowledge that it just may the connectivity between their switching office and my house.
I have replaced my modem (Twice and now the one I have had for less than a week has completely crapped out.) and my wireless router and I still get long periods of time with absolutely no service.
I have a tech coming out Friday, for the third time now, to replace my modem and diagnose the issues.
I wish Comcast home would start using the Business support staff.
I (reluctantly) switched our office over to Comcast internet (50mbps down, 10 up) because the price/speed ratio was untouchable. For the past few months the service has been fantastic. We had a couple small hiccups a few weeks ago, and Comcast went out of their way to make everything right. I was astonished.
It's sad that a company can do so well with one group of customers (business), and utterly fail another (home).
For those having issues with Comcast, go on Twitter and start bitching. I've had that work a couple times. This guy is a good starting point: http://twitter.com/jlivingood/
Get Fios and you will never look back......HD is killer
I have heard many bad things from friends and family about comcast so I never thought twice about searching out other options when I lived in Framingham.
Same aspect as for Charter, so I avoided them where i am now.
Right now I have Verizon phone and internet via High speed DSL, phone, with Direct TV because Fios is now available. Everything is great so far!
If you switch this this service, I can get you $100 gift card after you get a contract, then I get $100 as a refferal!Contact me and I can give you the info..

if you want to do a test of your dns servers speeds versus others out there that are public and usable, check this out. it will also offer some dns options
http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm
i have not used comcast's dns servers in years, they tend to be flaky.
if their service has a consistent weakness, their dns server are defintely it.
