Didn't know then, jackass. Anyway, you,d probably shoot them individually with a .50 cal pistol for 3 days.

Re: longshot any bee exterminators here?

Do you know what kind of bees they are? Wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, white faced, Honey bees??

A local beekeeper may come get rid of them for you for free if they are honey bees. They can be trapped and moved to another hive pretty easy.

I'm kinda in the same situation though, and mine are not honey bees. I've got a white faced hornets nest the size of a football hanging off the soffit of my basement entry at eye level. My plan (these are nasty fuckers) is to get some hornet spray, put my riding leathers on, tape my pant legs to my boots, tape my gloved to my leathers and put a helmet on and tape something on to create a seal around my neck. Yes, I'm to cheap to call an exterminator
Go out there at night, spray the entry hole with a full can of spray, let it sit for a bit then remove the nest...and hope I don't get stung

Bee Bopper works real well, this tiny aerosol can can squirt 20+ feet, bees & wasps die before they knew what hit them

If you're really allergic then yeah just have someone else spray them. The hanging nests I always mess with first. I have a scoped 1000fps pellet rifle that I plink away at the nests with before I spray them. I hate bees.

WHen you go to spray them do it at night. All the bees are in the nest and they really hate to leave it so the chances of being stung are low. It's kinda stupid to burn a nest attached to a building.

You guys are thinking WAY too logical here with your bee sprays...You have to get rid of these bees in the most awesome unlogical way...Like hang a picture of richie next to the nest and they will die from laughter

I'm not allergic but I hate getting stung, if it was a hanging nest i would be all over killing those little fuckers. i landscaped for 6 years and i have had lots of experiences with killing large nestes in bushes when we were pruning and found one. you just need like 4 -5 cans of spray... i would first hit them with this shit that foams at the mouth of the nest so the bee's comming out get stuck in the foam then douss the rest of the nest over and over till it get's soaked all the way through then 2 hours later cut and disect because the hive are WICKED COOL tolook at opened up.

Derek, do you know if they are honey bees? Harrison and my mom have 2 hives and sell honey. They have the suits, hats, smoker, and everything.

Re: longshot any bee exterminators here?

I use a vacuum cleaner ... put the end of the wand next to the entrance and duct tape the wand so it stays put. Turn the shop vac on and walk away.

In an hour or two, they are all gone. You know you are winning when they start exiting the nest with the baby grubs in their mouths.

If the nest is behind the siding, it is the only way to get rid of them.

You may want to set it up at night and the next day start the vacuum and walk away.

Never been stung cause all their attention is focused on the end of the wand.
You can't run away cause that will take their attention from the wand to you.
    Just move very slowly.

If they are honey bees please please please don't kill them. There is some sort of disease that are wiping them out as it is. That is not at all good for farms, orchards etc as bees do lots of good work there. Sounds like there are some people here that are, or know, beekeepers. Please take advantage of their services if the hive is indeed honey bees.

Thank you from a backyard gardener who has learned to appreciate what honey bees do...and am lucky enough not to be allergic to them as well.

Re: longshot any bee exterminators here?

A customer had a honey bee infestation in his house. The entire front left side of his house was covered in them. They'd gotten inside between the interior and exterior wall. He said they'd been liveing there for about 4 years. We ripped down the exterior siding, and holy shit!!!! there was a hive about 15 ft high, and 8 feet long. Unfortunatly we had to destroy the bees. We searched for weeks trying to find someone who to take them away. I contacted as many bee keepers as I could and no one wanted to take the bees for free. The honey inside the walls made the biggest mess! My truck, tools and clothes were covered in honey for weeks.

One of my neighbors is a beekeeper, he has 4 hives and one of them is in his living room. One of the coolest things I've ever seen for sure. It's made of lexan and you can see everything from the bees bringing in the honey, the queen laying the larve, and the new bees hatching. A well established honey bee hive can have well over 100,000 bees in it.
I was supposed to start my own hive this past spring but never got a chance. This winter I'm buying the hive box and ordering myself a colony of bees. For what it's worth, natural honey from your area is the best cure for allergies
