Been offered some work in malaysia. 1 week next month. Any security concerns? BTW I'm not an american citizen.

No security concerns that I was made aware of when I was there ~3 years ago. Spent 1.5 weeks and felt plenty safe enough. Work hours kept me on the beaten path mostly though. FWIW I was in Penang.

I dated someone from Malaysia for three years ... does that count? She was Mala-chinese, not a "native." If I recall one branch of her family was from Penang, the other in Kuala Lampur. She did say there was a high percentage of muslims in the country, but from what she used to say about them I do not think that should be a concern. The country is pretty stable.
