....and left my garage door open the other night. Two local dirt bags came into my garage 'round midnight and stole my pocket bike (no big deal to me, it's mine) and stole my sons electric scooter (which was a big deal to him, he's six). I was p.o.'d 'cause a.) I f-ed up, left the door open b.) They stole from me c.) These two were three to four steps away from walking in my house. I did a lot of driving around looking for either one, talking to neighbors about what happened and to look out for my stuff. Well one of the neighbors, two streets over from me, spotted these two geniuses dumping the bike. They dumped the bike on another neighbors house. When I went to get the bike the second neighbor came out and had no idea who they were. He and his neighbor asked around, got a name and an address. They called the police back to give him the info and they showed back up. The officer was able to get them to tell him were the scooter was. They have been charged with a whole list of charges. The cop thinks it will end with restitution for the damage of the pocket bike. He hinted that it should be a total loss. I need to find someone to write an estimate of repair. Let me know if anyone on the south shore can help me out.
Sorry for the long story....
Eric
Glad you got your stuff back.

You've got it all wrong. It's ok, they were only gonna make a copy of the pit bike.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
Now the question is: how will you get revenge?
Now its time to figure out a way to rig up a 12 gauge to a garage door sensor at waist height...

I don't know yet....I'll most likely let it go. Ya know, better to show my son the right thing to do. They're here in the my neighborhood a lot. I'll wait a while, after I get restitution, and think of something. They're not the brightest bulbs in the x-mas tree, they left my case and a half of Narraganset beer alone. IF, that's a big IF, it were me I would have grabbed the beer. All of it....

Yes let it be
If you see them just tell them if so much as a leaf is out of place at your home you will call the cops and say you saw them do it, even if you weren't home

Well glad nobody was hurt.. and you are lucky that the neighbors did see something... and they ditched the bike. I know of many people who never recovered a thing.. and even with house insurance it was almost not worth to make the claims.
Hopefully the thieves will smarten up.. I know I did stupid things when I was a kid.. but this is a little too stupid..Glad to hear the "happy" ending.
Glad the little buggers were caught. You are doing the right thing by letting the Police handle it.
A State Police Officer just moved in across the street from me, and I am strangely kind of happy about that. His cruiser sits in his driveway and we are both at the end of a dead end dirt road that draws a lot of mischievous types at all hours of the day and night.
We have a state trooper that lives on the next street over from us. I went and talked to him about the truck we were looking for. He was helpful. He has seen the truck before in our neighborhood. This is not the first time this kid has b and e'd. Why he's not in jail is due to the liberal judicial system we have here in MA, but that's a whole other thread...
Go old school... talk to their parents & broker a deal that you won't press charges if they shovel your driveway a few times![]()
